town manager- Laurel's new town manager, Jamie Smith, took her official seat at the council table for the first time during the Monday, July 21 meeting of Laurel Mayor and Council. Smith was named Town Manager effective July 1. She is the first town manager for Laurel since former Town Manager Bill Fasano left four years ago. She has worked with the town for the past 17 years, initially as assistant to former Town Manager Bonnie Walls. Along with Walls, Smith has been assistant to the town's last three managers: Fasano, Glenn Steckman and Bill Kelso. She was most recently the town's operations manager.
