Bestselling author tells of special friendship
New York Times bestselling author Laura Schroff was guest speaker Friday for the Seaford Library's annual gala Schroff's book, An Invisible Thread, released in November, tells the true story of her friendship with Maurice, whom she met when he was a child and was begging on the streets of New York City.
"When I met Maurice Mazyck over 25 years ago, I could never have imagined that our story and my book, An Invisible Thread, would be a New York Times Bestseller," Schoff said.
Her book tells how she made a difference in the life of one young man. "Maurice's life, although it was 25 years ago, unfortunately still represents the lives of many struggling families today."
