New breast cancer support group The Cancer Support Community in Sussex County will be introducing a Metastatic Breast Cancer Support Group to begin on June 16 and meet monthly on the third Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Sussex facility, 18947 John J. Williams Hwy., Ste. 312, Rehoboth. This group will be facilitated by Clare Wilson, RN, MS and Cancer Care coordinator at Tunnell Cancer Center. To participate, contact kwebb@cscde.org or call 645-9150. All programs offered at Cancer Support Community are free of charge to people affected by cancer and their loved ones.

Parkinson's Support Group Nanticoke Health Services, in conjunction with CHEER and Care DE and The Methodist Manor House, will hold a Parkinson's education and support group on Thursday, June 16 from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Methodist Manor House, 1001 Middleford Rd., Seaford. The group is free and open to the public. The support group is not only helpful for the individual diagnosed with PD, but also for caregivers, friends and family. Group members welcome guest speakers on a variety of subjects related to PD and provide support to each other through other small group discussions. Diabetes Support Group Nanticoke Memorial Hospital will hold a free diabetes support group on Monday, June 20 from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Medical Staff Conference Room. Are you struggling to make positive behavior changes in your life or would you like to share with others who are coping with diabetes? Come join our free support group for individuals with diabetes.

This meeting will feature a presentation on "Obstructive Sleep Apnea" by Dr. Agarwal of Nanticoke's Sleep Disorder Centers and Nanticoke Family Practice in Seaford. Registration is required. New Beginnings Brunch Delaware Hospice will hold a New Beginnings Brunch - Loss of a Loved One - at Rudy's Family Restaurant, 17064 S. Dupont Hwy., Harrington, on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity for those who have experienced the death of a loved one to share their loss and learn helpful ways to cope with grief. Each person attending pays for their own meal and drinks. In order to attend, you must RSVP one day in advance. Stroke Support Group Nanticoke Memorial Hospital will host a stroke support group on Tuesday, June 21 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Seaford Library & Cultural Center. Meetings consists of guest speakers and breakaway sessions in which caregivers and stroke survivors meet in groups to discuss concerns, providing support and networking. Refreshments will be provided. This support group is designed for individuals who have survived a stroke as well as their families, friends, and caregivers.
