Eat at IHOP to help the library Enjoy a meal any time at the IHOP restaurant in Seaford and support the Greenwood Library. Simply fill out a comment card after eating and give it to the cashier as you pay. You will be given a special receipt which you then take to the Greenwood Library on your next visit.

Relay for Life fundraiser It's 10% off night on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Laurel Pizzeria. Ten percent of each in house total bill will be donated to Relay For Life for Western Sussex County. Kiwanis Club holds spaghetti dinner The Kiwanis Club, along with Key Club members, will be holding a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Friday, Feb. 18, from 5-7 p.m. at St. John's Methodist Church in Seaford. 'Dodgeball Madness' Tournament Delaware Law Enforcement for Special Olympics is hosting a Dodgeball Tournament to benefit the athletes of Special Olympics Delaware on Saturday, March 19, at 8 a.m.The tournament will be held in the Caesar Rodney High School gymnasium. The tournament will consist of the first 24 teams to register. Those 24 teams will be divided into 3 different brackets. The minimum age to participate is 16. Patsy Cline Tribute Show The Seaford Moose Lodge #1728 will host a Patsy Cline Tribute Show featuring professional singer/songwriter/performer C.J. Harding from Florida. Harding has performed across the United States for the past 15 years. The show will be held on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m., at the Seaford Moose Lodge #1728, 22759 Bridgeville Highway, Seaford. Miss/Little Miss Seaford Pageant The Seaford Lioness presents their annual Miss/Little Miss Seaford Pageant at 7 p.m. on March 25, at Seaford High School. All You Can Eat dinner The Women of the Moose are sponsoring an all-you-can-eat chicken and dumpling dinner on Sunday, Feb. 27 from 12 noon until ? When you go home, your animal will stay at the library and have a sleepover. Pick up your animal on Friday and see what fun they had with pictures of their adventures. This special program is designed for children ages 3-7.


Hearts for Hope On Saturday, Feb. 19, at 6 p.m., the Laurel Community Foundation invites the public to join them at the Laurel Fire Hall for the annual "Heart for Hope Dinner and Auction." My Turn to Cook will provide a delicious buffet dinner, followed by an auction, and music by the Bo Dickerson Band, and "Dancing with the Stars." Railroad Exhibit on display The Laurel Public Library will host a new traveling exhibit from the Delaware Historical Society, "Almost as Fast as Birds Can Fly: The Railroad in Delaware History," for the month of February. The exhibit consists of large display panels which examine the history of Delaware railroads, past and present, and the industry's influences on the state's economy, culture and communities. The display is located in the second floor reading area and will be available for viewing during normal library hours until Feb. 28. Learn to Knit workshop The Learn to Knit workshop at the Laurel Library has been extended to meet again this month on Thursday, Feb. 24, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Carpenter Community Room. Members of the library knitting group will be on hand to help those who want to improve their knitting skills. All levels are welcome to join this informal group.First timers are asked to bring size 7 or 8 knitting needles and a skein of worsted weight yarn. Western Sussex byway to be featured A video depicting the newly created Western Sussex byway and narrated by local historian, Kendal Jones, will be the feature presentation of the annual dinner and meeting of the Old Christ Church League. Chocolate Lovers' Night In honor of Chocolate Month, the Greenwood Public Library will hold its 4th Annual Chocolate Lovers' Night on Friday, Feb. 25, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Greenwood VFW Hall.

Whip up your tastiest chocolate dessert and enter it in our Best Chocolate Dessert contest, or try your hand in our new contest for the Best Brownies. Those who attend will be our judges, sampling each entry and voting on their favorites. The top two winners of both the Best Chocolate Dessert contest and the Best Brownies contest will each receive a prize from Sweet Serenity Chocolates of Seaford. New Hampshire Ski Weekend The Salisbury Ski Club of Delmarva has scheduled a New Hampshire Ski Week for Sunday, February 27 - Friday, March 4. Delaware Tech offers trips Delaware Technical & Community College, Owens Campus is offering a variety of day trips to brighten up the dreary days of winter. Travel to Philadelphia on Feb. 23 to the National Museum of American Jewish History – the only museum dedicated to chronicling the American Jewish experience. Enjoy the comic genius of Mel Brooks in "Young Frankenstein" at the DuPont Theater on March 5. Like to dance? Then the 50s Dance Party with the Philly Pops is sure to please. Country breakfast buffet A country breakfast buffet will be held every fourth Sunday each month through June, from 7 to 10 a.m. at Galestown Community House. Adults, $7; ages 6 to 12, $4; under age 6, no charge. The buffet includes eggs, scrapple, sausage, pancakes, potato casserole, hominy, biscuits, toast, fruit cup and sticky buns.
