Senior Center Quarter Auction Nanticoke Senior Center will hold its third Quarter Auction on Thursday, June 26. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the auction will begin at 7. Bring rolls of quarters to bid on great prizes from various vendors. There will also be a special drawing, door prizes, a 50/50 and a silent auction. Tickets are available at the door for $5 per person. With your ticket, you get one paddle for the auction; additional paddles will be available that evening for $3 each. Manor House Car Show The Manor House Car Show will be held on Friday, June 27. Registration is from 12:30 to 1 p.m. and the event is from 1 to 4. Parks and Rec events The Seaford Department of Parks and Recreation is offering the following events. Movie Night - The Lego Movie will be shown on Friday, June 27 at 8:30 p.m. at Ross Mansion in Seaford. Trips - The Washington Nationals game that was scheduled for July 7 has been changed to Sept. 6. They play the Philadelphia Phillies. The cost is $85 per person. There will be a Medieval times trip on July 31. The cost is $65. The Baltimore Orioles home game against the New York Yankees is Aug. 11. The cost is $73 per person.

Riverfest Boat Parade The 2014 Nanticoke Riverfest Boat Parade will be held on Friday, July 11. Participants will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Nanticoke River Yacht Club and the parade starts at 8:30. Victorian Camps offered The Seaford Historical Society is sponsoring two Victorian Camps for children ages 9 to 12 at the Ross Plantation in Seaford. The camps are available through the Del Tech Summer Camp programs. Victorian Camp I - Experience the Life of a Ross Child - July 14-18, 9 a.m. to noon - Step back in time with us to a time of petticoats and tea parties! Participants will play games, make crafts, explore their family tree, and prepare for giving a tour of the mansion for the families. A tea party will be held on Friday. Period clothes will be provided to wear each day to experience life in the 1850s. Cost is $89. Victorian Camp II - Daily Life in the 1850s - July 28 - Aug. 1, 9 a.m. to noon- Experience daily life in the 1850s through games, crafts and a scavenger hunt. Participants will learn about the uses of the plants grown on the plantation and the outbuildings on the Ross Plantation to share with the families during a tour on Friday. The children will prepare food for a picnic on Friday. Period clothes will be provided to wear each day to enhance the experience. Cost is $89. Fishing Tournament for SPCA Trinity Logistics will hold its first annual Catch & Release Fishing Tournament to benefit the Delaware SPCA on Saturday, July 19 from 8 a.m. to noon at Williams Pond in Seaford. Woodland Ferry Festival The 18th Woodland Ferry Festival will take place in the historic community of Woodland, west of Seaford, on Saturday, Sept. 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be free pedestrian rides on the ferry, the "Tina Fallon," throughout the festival. The ferry will be closed to vehicular traffic during this time. Live entertainment begins at 10 a.m. with the Good News Tour, a favorite local gospel group. From noon until 2 p.m. the headliners, the Jones Boys Band will perform. Charlie Paparella and the Olivet Church String Band return with their folksy humor and variety of songs. More surprise performers are being invited to join in the fun. There will be several food vendors offering a wide variety of food. Frank-N-Burger, Blazen Grille and the Seaford Oddfellows will return with Abbott's on Broad Creek joining them. Craft/business vendors, exhibitors and demonstrators such as For Woodness Sake will be on hand to show or sell their wares. The Woodland Ferry Association will sell ice cream and souvenirs and hold their traditional Silent Auction. Clean up at Bethel Museum The Bethel Heritage Museum will hold a clean up session at the museum grounds this Saturday, June 28 from 9 to 10 a.m. The goal is to get some weeding and mulching done (day lilies are coming in bloom). Additionally, the museum is going to try and get the new seats installed on the merry-go-round. The Eldreth Pottery exhibit has drawn to a close, and the museum thanks everyone that stopped by to enjoy the exhibit. The next exhibit features the tailoring of local seamstress, Sandy Williams and will open on Sunday, July 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. Williams creates original clothing for the American Girl Doll (18" dolls) and is frequently seen at local festivals and shows. As part of the exhibit which runs through Sept. 28, the museum would like to stage dolls wearing her creations in various settings. The museum would like to borrow 18" doll sized furniture to create display settings. One-Man Magic Show Join magician Mark Zacharia as he returns to the Greenwood community with his unique one-man magic show, "Making 60 Minutes Seem like an Hour," on Friday, June 27 at 6:30 p.m. You'll laugh; you'll cry; it will change your life. Group plans peaceful march The public is invited to join a peaceful march on Wednesday, July 2, to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the signing of the Civil Rights Act. . The march will begin at 6 p.m. in the parking lot at St. Michael's Church, 202 Edward St., Georgetown and continue to the Big Tent in the park on the grounds of Georgetown Presbyterian Church. Children will lead the march so parents are encouraged to bring children of all ages. After the short march along sidewalks, attendees will gather to hear excerpts from the inspirational speeches of civil rights and political leaders of the 1960s and join in the songs of freedom and justice. Those who prefer not to march may meet in the Big Tent at 203 N. Bedford St. The event is being planned by a local grassroots group, Sussex Unity. Art Crawl seeks artists The annual Historic Georgetown Art Crawl will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Georgetown. This is a rain or shine juried art event, and will feature artists and artisans, and area art leagues and art guilds. Visit the Dickinson Plantation During the month of June, the John Dickinson Plantation, located at 340 Kitts Hummock Rd., Dover, will present special programs that explore different aspects of everyday life as it would have been lived during the 18th century when John Dickinson, one of the founding fathers of the United States, was in residence at the property. Heroes Haven Crab Feast A crab feast will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, at the Sharptown Firemen's Memorial Building to benefit Heroes Haven, a local program that brings wounded heroes from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and other locations to the Eastern Shore for hunting and hospitality. Special fireworks presentation Cape Henlopen State Park and the Cape May-Lewes Ferry are both celebrating 50 years of service to Delaware's residents and guests. In honor of the milestone, a special fireworks presentation will be held on Sunday, June 29 at 9:15 p.m. from the Cape Henlopen State Park fishing pier. Fireworks spectators may park at the Main Beach parking lot at Cape Henlopen. The Fishing Pier will close at 6 a.m. on June 29 to allow for preparation. There will be limited parking available at the pier and the bait shop will be open. After the fireworks, visitors can avoid the heavy traffic exiting the park by reserving a campsite at Cape Henlopen's popular campground at a 25% discount. Families and individuals are encouraged to take advantage of Cape Henlopen's public programs, including a kayak eco-tour of the Delaware Breakwater on June 29 at 10 a.m. or kayak and paddleboard rentals to customize a paddling trip. Learn to make your own basket Westside Historical Society in Wicomico County welcomes all who want to learn more about the great tradition of basket weaving. Great Eastern Shore Tomato Festival The Dorchester County Historical Society is preparing for the 3rd Annual Tomato Festival which will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23 in Vienna along the Nanticoke River. This event features regional heritage demonstrators, canning industry memorabilia, vendors, activities, tomato games, entertainment, food, among other things. Last year's attendance topped 1,500 and this year is expected to be higher. Toastmasters Club Southern Delaware Toastmasters Club meets at the Crossroad Community Church, Georgetown, on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 6 p.m. Toastmasters International, an educational, leadership and communication organization, has existed since 1924.

Stamp Club meets monthly The Sussex County Stamp Club meets the second Wednesday of each month from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. John's Hall, The Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist, 307 Federal St., Milton. Anyone with an interest in stamp collecting is invited to join. There is a stamp auction every meeting.

Sail & Power Squadron meeting The Nanticoke River Sail & Power Squadron (NRS&PS) meets at the Nanticoke River Yacht Club on the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. If you are interested in boating education and safety, and enjoy power boating, sailing or kayaking/canoeing, join us and participate in our classes and social outings. Senator Brian Pettyjohn Sen. Brian Pettyjohn (R-Georgetown) will host a monthly "Coffee with Constituents" meeting. He encourages District 19 residents to stop by to ask a question or share a concern on issues relating to the district or state government.
