Gallery 107 art classes The following classes are scheduled for June at Gallery 107 in Seaford. For more details, visit nanticokeriverartscouncil.org/Classes.html. The gallery is located at 324 High St., Seaford. Hours are 1 to 5 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. Classes are conducted around the corner at 105 Pine St.

Ongoing classes Mondays, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - Open studio time for artists of all media who wish to work in a group setting. The open studio will be available for individuals ages 16 and older who like to paint with others. No instruction will be available although you can learn more in a group setting. Cost is $5. Fridays, 10 a.m. to noon - Canvas and Coffee with Tammy Kearney and Nancy Laprad, $5. Annual Tractor, Truck & Car Show The 16th Annual Tractor, Truck & Car Show of the First State Antique Tractor Club will be held on Friday, June 17 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, June 18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Governor Ross Plantation in Seaford. The featured tractor is Ford and related equipment. All makes and models are welcome. Kids will enjoy Touch a Tractor and Touch a Truck. The event will feature a Delaware State Police K-9 demonstration, Delaware State Police fingerprinting for kids, a moon bounce, a corn box with toys, a pedal pull, a Chocolate Dessert Contest featuring homemade items, food, a baked goods table, Wrench and Fry Pan Toss, crafters, small engines, 2nd Chance Fur Babies, Greyhound Rescue, presentation of 2016 scholarships, a blacksmith demonstration and Chinese and live auctions. The Delmarva Railroaders Band will perform. Free parking, free admission, flea market, daily parade. No alcoholic drinks. Designer Bag Bingo Designer Bag Bingo will take place Thursday, June 23 at Seaford Elks Lodge #2458, located at 8846 Elks Road in Seaford. Gala, new exhibit The Seaford Historical Society Gala 2016 will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 4-9 p.m. at the Ross Plantation. Activities include a cash bar, mansion tours, games, live auction and dancing with music provided by Imagine. Cost is $65 per person. Recycled Cardboard Boat Regatta The 3rd Annual Nanticoke River Recycled Cardboard Boat Regatta will be held on Saturday, Aug. 6 from noon to 3 p.m. at Nanticoke River Public Marine Park, Blades, as part of the Reclaim Our River, Nanticoke Series. The Regatta is open to individuals, schools, youth groups, businesses, groups of friends, government and non-profit organizations who want to build a boat and race using only recycled corrugated cardboard. Senior Center focus group to meet The Laurel Senior Center focus group will meet on Wednesday, June 22 from 1:30-3 p.m. The Sussex County Advisory Committee on Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities is partnering with the University of Delaware's Institute for Public Administration. The group wants to hear from seniors who currently live in Sussex County. Topics will include transportation, housing, and development. Come and share your opinions about living in Sussex.

Movie Night Abundant Life Christian Church in Laurel will show the movie Woodlawn on Friday, June 24 at 7 p.m. All are welcome. The church will have a spaghetti dinner on Saturday, June 25 from 4-7 p.m. Dinner includes salad, garlic bread, beverage and dessert. Cost is $7.

Annual Father Daughter Dance The 3rd Annual Father Daughter Dance, Butterfly Kisses, will be held at the Delmar Fire Department on Saturday, July 9 from 2-5 p.m. Dads, grandpas, uncles, etc. are all welcome. Art classes offered From the Studio in Bridgeville offers the following art classes: Art, Food and Friends - The third Tuesday of each month from 6:30-9 p.m. at Cafe Tamburelli's in Greenwood. Bake & Bling Sale The Greenwood CHEER Activity Center will host an indoor "Bake & Bling" Sale on Thursday, June 16. Homemade baked goods, costume jewelry by "Tracey's Treasures," hand crafted jewelry by "Gil" and collectable porcelain dolls will be on sale in the center from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. and dinner at 5 p.m. The fundraiser is open to the public. Next book talk is June 17 The third program in the Westside Historical Society's Series of book talks, "Authors on Delmarva" will look at the case of Euel Lee, alias Orphan Jones, in Worcester County during the Great Depression in the 1930s on Friday, June 17 from 4-7 p.m., at Layton's Chance Winery. Written by Joe Moore, a retired lawyer and deputy state's attorney, the book, "Murder on Maryland's Eastern Shore," is an intriguing study of the strains of racism and cultural tensions on the Eastern Shore. The program is free but donations to Westide Historical Society are appreciated. Light refreshments will be offered. Anne Foley, author of Holland Island, will speak on Sept. 9. October will feature Don Parks who has authored a series of character studies of the Chesapeake Bay and its people and Andy Nunez, who has written several studies of folklore and local reports of spiritualism and hauntings. Free How-to Clinics at Lowe's Sussex County Habitat's Women Build Project continues as Habitat's National Sponsor Lowe's presents free how-to clinics at the ReStore in Georgetown on Saturday, June 18 at 9:30 a.m. Participants will learn "How to Prepare for Painting" and "How to Repair a Toilet." Night of Doo Wop at CHEER Back by popular demand, CHEER presents the Jersey Jukebox and the Del Angels with an evening of Doo Wop and Oldies at the CHEER Community Center, Georgetown, on Saturday, June 18 from 5-8 p.m. Cruise down memory lane with the boss sounds of the Jersey Jukebox who have opened for The Duprees, The Earls, Little Anthony and the Imperials, the Tokens, and have been featured on Good Morning America. The Del Angels will bring back memories of timeless classics with their interactive high energy performances of the Chantels, the Ronettes, Aretha Franklin, The Crystal, The Supremes and so many other female groups. There will be dancing for anyone who wants to cut a rug. Vendors needed for car show CHEER will host its 6th Annual Classic Car, Truck & Bike Show on Saturday, Aug. 6, at the CHEER Community Center on Rt. 9, east of Georgetown. In addition to vehicles on display, the event will also have business displays, silent and live auctions, entertainment, a remote control model aircraft demonstration, and a craft show. A 10x10 space and a table to display informational materials is available for $30. Craft vendors are sought for outside of the Community Center along the entrance to the car show. Space and a table for craft vendors can be purchased for $35. Up to three additional tables can be rented for $10 each. Bring your own tent or rent one for $10. Set-up time for the craft show is 8-9:30 a.m. The car show will begin at 10 a.m. Pre-register for the craft show by July 30. Bus trip to see comedy play The Greenwood CHEER Activity Center is offering a motor coach trip to the Rainbow Comedy Playhouse in Paradise, Pa. to see the comedy play, Perfect Wedding, on Wednesday, Aug. 3. Explore your ancestry with SCGS The Sussex County Genealogical Society (SCGS), an organization dedicated to promoting genealogy and education to encourage and instruct in genealogical research, can help you search your ancestry.
