Interim senior pastor of the Atlanta Road Alliance Church
Pastor Ron Mayers and his wife Reba are coming to Seaford, where he will be serving as interim senior pastor of the Atlanta Road Alliance Church, beginning Sunday, Oct. 16. Pastor Mayers started his ministry as assistant pastor in Hialeah, Fla. He was then senior pastor in Ormond Beach, Fla., Hialeah, Macon, Ga., Durham, N.C. and Watsontown, Pa. While pastoring these churches he was also instrumental in starting three new churches. After 41 years of pastoral ministry, he retired in September, 2001. Since retiring he has continued to be active in ministry, doing a nine-month interim in Fayetteville, N.C., a year in Reidsville, N.C., and a year in Raleigh, N.C. The Mayers are looking forward to the privilege of ministering in the Atlanta Road Alliance Church. He started preaching at the age of 21, and his desire is to preach as long as God enables him. The Mayers have three children and four grandchildren. Pastor Mayers will be speaking each Sunday at the 8:30 and 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. services. A Ten Commandment supper
There will be a Ten Commandment supper at John Wesley United Methodist Church on Saturday, Oct. 22, at St. Luke's Parish Hall, North and King streets, Seaford, at 5 p.m. The donation is $10 per adult and $5 per child. Annual Fall Bazaar
Christ United Methodist Church, 510 South Central Avenue in Laurel, will hold its Annual Fall Bazaar on Friday, Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., carry-outs are available. There will be crafts, baked goods, a country store, and trash & treasure table. For additional information call 875-4233.

'God's Table' in Laurel
"God's Table," sponsored by the Laurel Ministerial Association, has restarted for the season. A free meal is offered with a devotional service each Friday at 6 p.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church on Market Street in Laurel. Area churches share in the Friday evening meal and service.

Christian Diet Health Ministry
The Delmar Christian Center will be hosting The Maker's Diet Health Ministry Team who will be presenting "The Maker's Diet Lecture" based on the national best selling book by Jordon S. Galestown UMC 150 anniversary
Galestown United Methodist Church will celebrate its 150 anniversary with a homecoming service on Sunday, Oct. 16, at 2 p.m. The speaker will be the Rev. Dan Walker and special music will be provided by Pam Rush and Randy Marine. A buffet meal will be served following the service.

Methodist Church 84th reunion
The Sons, Daughters and Friends of Concord Methodist Church will be having its 84th reunion on Saturday, Oct. 15. The business meeting and memorial service will begin at 2 p.m.; followed by dinner at 4 p.m. Music will be provided by "Lights of Home." The public is invited. For more information call 629-0687.

Bishop visiting St. Luke's
Sunday, Oct, 16, will be a day of celebration at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Seaford. The Right Rev. Wayne Wright, bishop of the Diocese of Delaware, will make his annual visit to St. Luke's. This visitation is in conjunction with the celebration of the anniversary of 10 years of service as rector of the Rev. Jeanne W. Kirby. Holy Eucharist will be celebrated at 9 a.m. with a reception and luncheon immediately following in the Parish Hall.

Concert for Hurricane Relief
A benefit concert for hurricane relief will be held at St. John's United Methodist Church located at Pine and Poplar Streets, Seaford, on Sunday, October 16 at 2:20 p.m. Featured vocalists will be Beverly LaFazia, Bob Naylor, Griffin Dunn, and Sanctuary, selected members of St. John's choir. Proceeds from a free will offering will be sent to the United Methodist Committee on Relief. UMCOR sends 100 percent of donations from hurricane relief efforts to the victims affected.

Latin Mass October 16
A Latin mass according to the Missal of 1962 is celebrated on the third Sunday of every month at 3 p.m. at Holy Cross Church in Dover. The mass will be celebrated on Oct. 16. The mass is always a Missa Cantata using traditional Gregorian chant. For further information, call 302-674-5781.
