St. Philips annual Acolytes
On Saturday, Oct. 8, ten Acolytes from St. Philip's Church, Laurel, and their Rector, Rita Nelson, attended the 26th annual Acolyte Festival at the Washington National Cathedral. Acolytes serve at the altar during services and process with crosses, torches, and banners at the beginning of worship services. At the cathedral service the acolytes processed with approximately 1600 acolytes from all over the country, including Hawaii. During the two-hour service the acolytes were commissioned and blessed by the Bishop of Washington, the Rt. Rev. John Bryson Chane. After the service four workshop on various aspects of acolyte service were presented. Nine churches from Delaware were represented, one of the largest diocesan delegations.
A Ten Commandment supper
There will be a Ten Commandment supper at John Wesley United Methodist Church on Saturday, Oct. 22, at St. Luke's Parish Hall, North and King streets, Seaford, at 5 p.m. The donation is $10 per adult and $5 per child. Seaford Presbyterian 40th

Bennett will teach at seminar
Rita Bennett, along with her late husband Dennis, who wrote the million-copy best seller, "The Holy Spirit and You," will be teaching a condensed version of the book at an all-day seminar on Saturday, Dec. 3, at Christ Evangelistic Church in Laurel, beginning at 8 a.m. Registration must be made in advance. Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, High Street, Seaford, will hold its annual roast beef dinner and silent auction on Friday, Oct. 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. Dinner will be served family style and take-outs will be available. 'Just Inspired' at Alliance
The Southern Gospel quartet "Just Inspired" will be in concert at the Atlanta Road Alliance Church, Seaford, on Sunday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. The men of Just Inspired have developed a ministry of hope and encouragement via Southern Gospel four-part harmonies. Just Inspired has been in the ministry since 1993 and have developed a style all their own. The concert is free; an offering will be taken. Epworth 'Dinner & a Movie'
Epworth Fellowship Church invites the community for "A Dinner and A Movie," on Wedneday, Oct. 26. Dinner from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The feature event, which starts at 6:30 p.m., is "Left Behind Ñ World at War, Worldwide Premiere." All are welcome to this free event.
