Advent and Christmas worship Union United Methodist Church in Bridgeville will hold the following Advent and Christmas worship opportunities. Christmas House fundraiser The Christmas House Fundraiser at Christ the Cornerstone Community Church in Laurel, will be open through Saturday, Dec. 18. Hours are Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There are designer wreaths plus many new items for the season.

Recreational Night at Trinity UMC Trinity UMC near Trap Pond in Laurel will be having Recreational Night (Rec night) every Tuesday when school is in session. These events will start at 6:30 p.m. and end at 8.

Father Daughter Dance Mt. Olivet UMC Father Daughter Dance tickets are available.The dance will be held Friday, Jan. 28, from 7 to 9:30 p.m., at the Seaford Volunteer Fire Dept. For tickets, which are $7.50 each, contact David and Becky Genshaw at 629-9014.

Weekly Bible Study A weekly Bible study is being held every Wednesday night from 7:15-8:15 p.m. at the Days Inn, Rt. 13 South, Seaford (next to KFC). Family oriented Bible lessons for all ages. Bible Study St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Seaford is conducting a Bible Study every Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Parish House.

Christmas Cantata The Atlanta Road Alliance Church choir and children's ensemble, under the direction of Richard Trice, will present "Noel: A Musical Collection of Christmas Moments," on Friday, Dec. 17, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m.

Included is a medley of favorite seasonal songs, a breathtaking arrangement of "O Holy Night," and "The Last Noel," a powerful new song that uniquely captures the spiritual message of Christmas. Centenary Christmas Cantata On Sunday, Dec. 12, Centenary United Methodist Church in Laurel, will have a combined worship service at 11 a.m. The adult choir will present a cantata, "Bethlehem Morning."

Annual Memorial Service The Farmington Fire Company and Auxiliary will hold their Annual Memorial Service to honor all fallen members at the Farmington Fire House on Sunday, Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m. Music will be provided by Precious Memories Gospel Band and light refreshments will be served.

Soup kitchen A soup kitchen featuring free clothing and lunch will be held at St. Luke's Parish Hall in Seaford on Saturday, Dec. 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call 628-1020.

First Baptist Christmas Cantata The public is invited as the First Baptist Church of Seaford will present the Christmas Cantata, The Greatest Gift, on Sunday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. The cantata features many beautiful Christmas songs composed and arranged by Ron and Shelly Hamilton, and a heartwarming drama that highlights the true meaning of Christmas. Hymn sing There will be a Hymn sing on Sunday, Dec. 12, at 6 p.m., at Shiloh Community Church, Shiloh Church Rd., east of Laurel. The featured singer for the evening will be Ashley Yoder. Mary and Martha Tea Room Take My Hand Ministry, Inc. (TMHM) announces the date of the last Mary and Martha Tea Room, on Wednesday, Dec. 15, from 2 to 4:30 p.m., at 102 Maryland Ave., Greenwood. Pastor Sadie Brunson of Water in the Wilderness in Wilmington, who was the first guest speaker seven years ago, will be the final speaker. The ministry will begin a new program of women's ministry in 2011, "Seasons in a Woman's Life," which will be offered quarterly - winter, spring, summer and fall. Details of each program will be announced and the public is invited to attend the new program as well as the final Mary and Martha Tea Room. At the final Tea Room, there will also be a Christmas Shop for last minute shoppers. Items featured include homemade cookies and brownies, cosmetics and beauty supplies, a few handmade, crocheted hats and an afghan.
