Seaford Lenten Services
The Greater Seaford Ministerium announces the schedule for the Lenten Services. These services begin at noon and are followed by a light lunch. Call the Rev. March 15 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church with the Rev. Peggy Briggs of John Wesley United Methodist Church.
March 22 at Our Lady of Lourdes with the Rev. Glen Clouser of Seaford of Church of the Nazarene.
March 29 at St. Johns United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ron Mayers of Atlanta Road Missionary Alliance Church.

Marriage Conference
Across the nation, sadly Christian marriages have an even higher divorce rate than non-Christian marriages. With the goal to glorify Christ in all things, the Greater Seaford Ministerium is sponsoring, "A Promise Kept," a regional marriage conference to strengthen Christ-centered marriage and teach its Biblical principles as well as to provide tools and resources to assist couples in attaining a fulfilled and Godly marriage. Clinical psychologists Drs. Dave and Jan Stoop of the Marriage and Family Network, a division of the American Association of Christian Counselors, will be the presenters for the conference to be held March 10-11 at the Atlanta Road Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Seaford. St. Luke's Lenten services
St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Seaford will observe the first Sunday in Lent, March 5, at 9 a.m. service of Holy Eucharist with the reading of The Great Litany, an ancient liturgy used at the beginning of the somber penitential season of Lent. Alleluias will not be used again during services until the glorious Easter Resurrection. The 6 p.m. Thursday evening Holy Eucharist service will be followed by Stations of the Cross and will continue throughout Lent. All are welcome to attend.

Organ Workshop at Centenary UMC
Justin Hartz, the organist at Longwood Gardens, will be presenting a workshop at Centenary United Methodist Church, at 2 p.m., on Monday, March 6. He is from New Jersey where he is the dean of the American Guild of Organists for that region. Hartz will be demonstrating how to take a piece of "popular" music and turn it into "theater organ." 'Reunion' at Wesley Church
One of the area's most popular southern gospel groups, "Reunion," will be in concert at Wesley United Methodist Church, Seaford, on Atlanta Road, on Sunday, March 12, at 6:30 p.m. The group presents their music in an inspirational and congenial way for audiences of all ages. Having been together for 13 years, they have shared their talents with audiences throughout the Eastern Shore. Admission is free, but there will be a free-will offering. Refreshments will follow. Free Soup Kitchen
Starting Monday, March 13, Christ United Methodist Church will be serving free soup to the community at noon. This service will continue each Monday through the end of May. Christ Church is located at 510 South Central Ave., Laurel. Other free meals available in the community include: Wednesday at New Zion Church from noon until 2 p.m., and Friday nights, God's Table at Centenary United Methodist Church, at 6 p.m. All are welcome.

Laurel Baptist Church events
The Laurel Baptist Church will have a praise celebration on Sunday, March 5, at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend; there will be finger food after the service. For further information call the Rev. Steve Booth at 875-2422.

Celebrate Recovery support group
Celebrate Recovery, a support group for those who have hurts, habits and hang-ups, meets Tuesday evenings at 8 p.m. in room 203, at St. John's United Methodist Church, Pine and Poplar streets, Seaford. This 12-step program recognizes Jesus Christ as the higher power and seeks healing through mutual care, study and prayer. Call 629-9466 ext. 21 for details.

Country Gospel Jamboree
The Country Gospel Music Association, Seaford Chapter, will present a Jamboree on Saturday, March 4, starting at 7 p.m. at the Broadcreek Grange in Laurel. There is no admission, but a love offering will be taken. For more information, contact Jerry Jones at 629-9689.

Somewhere Else Coffeehouse
Somewhere Else Coffeehouse, an alternative for Christian youth, will be March 3, from 8 to 11 p.m., at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, Seaford. Centenary Church Gospel Cafe
Centenary United Methodist Church, Poplar and Market streets, Laurel, will host a Christian music hour each Saturday, beginning March 4, 6 to 7 p.m., in the fellowship hall of the church. Bruce and Nancy Willey will present live Christian music, fellowship and refreshments.

St. John's Thrift Shop giveaway
St. John's Community Thrift Shop, located at 259 Conwell St., Seaford, has been closed for renovations. On Saturday, March 4, at 9 a.m., it will open for a free clearance giveaway of all merchandise. Persons are asked to bring their own bags. Call 629-9466 for information or to volunteer to help.

Macedonia AME Church gala
The Macedonia AME Church gala committee will present its first Jazz Evening of Elegance on Saturday, March 18 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the CHEER Community Center, 20520 Sand Hill Road, Georgetown.

Proceeds will benefit the annual Women's Day.
The evening will feature gospel recording artist Daryl Anderson of Bronx, N.Y., Tony Smith and Band of New Jersey and local artist Stephanie Shelton of Rehoboth.

Tickets are $35 for adults; $30 for youth 12-18.

IMPACT 2006 will draw 4,000
More than 4,000 High School students and youth group leaders from Maryland and surrounding states are expected to attend IMPACT 2006: The Encounter High School Youth Conference, from Friday, March 24 through Sunday, March 26, at the Ocean City Convention Center in Maryland. The Encounter will feature a variety of national speakers and entertainers including Reggie Dabbs, who with humor and compassion drives home the fact that "you can't change your past, but you can change your future." Nazarene Church visitors
On Sunday, March 12, at 4 p.m. Pastor Willie Jackson and congregation from Christian Strongwhole Church in Princess Anne, Md. will be at the United Church of the Nazarene, 4718 Jackson St., Hurlock, Md.
