Gospel Cafe Every Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. there is a Gospel Cafe in the Fellowship Hall at Laurel Baptist Church. Free Christian entertainment, live bands, local talent.Everyone is welcome. The church is located at 33056 Bi-State Blvd., Laurel.

Southern Gospel Concert A Southern Gospel Concert featuring The Anchormen from Goldsboro, N.C., will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle in Salisbury. There is no admission fee but a love offering will be taken. For more information, call 410-749-1394 or 846-3985.

IJM presentation Atlanta Road Alliance Church will host Stephen Schiffman on Sunday, May 29, at 7 p.m. In June, Schiffman and his family will travel to Cambodia where he will serve with the International Justice Mission (IJM), a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local officials to ensure immediate victim rescue and aftercare, to prosecute perpetrators and to promote functioning public justice systems. Laremore named chaplain Nixie Laremore has recently been named the new chaplain at Homestead Manor Assisted Living in Denton, Md. Laremore's primary responsibility is to visit regularly with each resident to help them with their individual spiritual needs. Additionally, Laremore will offer spiritual encouragement to the staff at Homestead. A resident of Seaford since 2006, Laremore has most recently ministered to others through private elder care, but previously focused on teaching and conference ministries. A mother of three, she has been married to Ed Laremore, senior pastor at Atlanta Road Alliance Church in Seaford, for 25 years. She earned an undergraduate degree in biblical counseling and biblical education from Florida Bible College and is pursuing a master's degree online from Liberty University. Laremore is active in women's and children's ministries at Alliance Church in Seaford and continues to minister through marriage, parenting, and women's conferences across the region.

'Balling For God' The Community Outreach Team of New Zion United Methodist Church is hosting its 7th Annual "Balling for God" Basketball Tournament and Block Party.

This event will take place on Saturday, May 28, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Webb Avenue in Laurel. Teams are now forming; age brackets are 6-8, 9-11, 12-14, 15-19 and 20 and up. Girl Guard/Sunbeam Camp The Salvation Army in Seaford invites all girls entering 3rd through 12th grades to Girl Guard/Sunbeam Camp at The Salvation Army June 27-30 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Camp includes lunch. The Salvation Army Girl Guard and Sunbeam Program (similar to other scouting programs) offers a holisticChristian education experience that helps girls develop social & communication habits, decision making & life skills and character & leadership. There is no fee for this camp, but you may only enroll if you are planning to commit to being part of the Girl Guard/Sunbeam Program September 2011 through June 2012. Gosporium Music Gosporium Music Group, LLC, in conjunction with John Wesley United Methodist Church, presents a concert on June 4, at 5 p.m. Performing live will be the GMG Family which includes Bryant Richardson Sr., G-Camp Integrity and Redeemed. This program will be hosted by Gospel Comedian, Lisa Carter. The Proceeds will go to the John Wesley's Building Fund. The church is located at 3rd and Chandler streets, Seaford.
