Southern Gospel Concert A Southern Gospel Concert featuring The Anchormen from Goldsboro, N.C., will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle in Salisbury. There is no admission fee but a love offering will be taken. For more information, call 410-749-1394 or 846-3985.

Celebrate Recovery program Celebrate Recovery, a step program which claims Jesus Christ as its Higher Power, is meeting at St. John's United Methodist Church, Pine and Poplar Streets, on Tuesdays at 7p.m. in Room 14. Women's Ministries, Bible Study Women's Ministries and Bible Study meets Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. at The Salvation Army in Seaford, next to Food Lion. Girl Guard/Sunbeam Camp The Salvation Army in Seaford invites all girls entering 3rd through 12th grades to Girl Guard/Sunbeam Camp at The Salvation Army June 27-30 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Camp includes lunch. There is no fee for this camp, but you may only enroll if you are planning to commit to being part of the Girl Guard/Sunbeam Program September 2011 through June 2012. John Wesley UMC holds rally On June 18 at 4 p.m. there will be a Shade of Roses Rally at John Wesley United Methodist Church. All are invited. The church is located at 3rd and Chandler streets, Seaford.

Union UMC offers VBS, camps Union United Methodist Church in Bridgeville presents Vacation Bible School (VBS) - "Big Jungle Adventure, A Faith Journey with Jesus," - June 20 through June 24 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. VBS is free and open to children ages 3 through 5th grade. Dinner is served nightly at 5:30 p.m. There will be daily lessons, crafts, Bible challenges, storytelling, music and more. Pre-registration is now through June 19. VBS at Concord UMC Concord United Methodist Church in Seaford is offering a Vacation Bible School (VBS), Shake It Up Café, the week of June 20-24 from 6 to 8:30 p.m., for ages Pre-K through high school. Benefit Gospel Blue Grass Concert The Church of the Brethren in Farmington will be holding a Gospel Blue Grass Concert on Sunday, June 12, at 3 p.m. Music will be provided by the Delmarva Ramblers, Ashley Yoder, Autumn Grass, Stoney Run String Band and Joy Miller. Laurel Baptist holds VBS Vacation Bible school will be held at Laurel Baptist Church each evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., the week of June 20-24. This year's theme is "Beach Blast." VBS at Alliance Church "The Acts of God" is the theme of Vacation Bible School (VBS) at the Atlanta Road Alliance Church, June 20-24.Each evening begins with a light supper at 5:30 p.m. followed by the program for children ages 4 through grade 6. ICRIS, Under Command in concert He was a professional thief and drug dealer who found his way off the streets. Listen to his story through the hip hop stylings of ICRIS at The Lighthouse in Laurel on Saturday, June 18 as part of the Lightning Strikes Concert Series. Greenwood UMC offers VBS Join us at Vacation Bible School at Greenwood United Methodist Church as we go "Inside Out and Upside Down on Main Street," where Jesus makes a difference every day. VBS begins on Sunday, June 12 and lasts until the closing program on Friday, June 17, with sessions beginning each night at 6 p.m. and lasting until 8:15. Pre-K through teens are invited. Teens will work with the church's youth leader and experience the book "City On Its Knees," by Toby Mac. Come join us for lessons, crafts, snacks and games each night.

County to host prayer breakfast Tickets are on sale for the 34th annual Sussex County Prayer Breakfast, to be held Tuesday, June 14, with Pastor Bob Carey of Delmarva Teen Challenge as this year's featured guest speaker. The theme is 'Changing One Life at a Time.' Pastor Carey, of Seaford, is executive director of Delmarva Teen Challenge, a program that provides second chances to young men affected by drugs, alcohol and other social ills by introducing them to a personal relationship with God. Pastor Carey, who once had a promising corporate career, will discuss his own personal transformation through the Teen Challenge program and how it saved him from a life of alcohol abuse, bringing him peace and to a new life of ministry. Joining Pastor Carey as this year's musical entertainment will be 'The Reminders,' with their eclectic mix of original and familiar gospel music, as well as the Teen Challenge Praise Team and vocalist Greg Fuller. The Sussex County Prayer Breakfast is held annually to bring citizens and community leaders together for a morning of ministry, music and personal reflection. The event is attended by business professionals, community leaders, and various representatives of local, county, state and federal governments. The breakfast will begin at 6:45 a.m. June 14 at Crossroad Community Church, Route 404 and State Forest Road, west of Georgetown. The ministry and music portion of the program will begin promptly at 7:30 a.m. Tickets are $15 per person, or $110 per table of eight, and will be available on a first-come-first-served basis.
