Women's Ministries, Bible Study Women's Ministries and Bible Study meets Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. at The Salvation Army in Seaford, next to Food Lion. The third Tuesday of every month the group meets in the Bethany Unit at the Methodist Manor House on Middleford Road. For more information, call Envoy Debbie Engel at 668-7412.

Gospel Café Every Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. there is a Gospel Cafe in the Fellowship Hall at Laurel Baptist Church. Free Christian entertainment, live bands, local talent. The church is located at 33056 Bi-State Blvd., Laurel.

Summer hours at Centenary During the month of August, Centenary United Methodist Church, Laurel, will have one service each Sunday at 10 a.m.Sunday School for all ages will begin at 9 a.m. Effective Sept. 4, Centenary UMC will return to its normal schedule of Contemporary Worship at 8:45 a.m. and Traditional Worship at 11 a.m. All are welcome to come and worship with us each week.

Ice Cream Sale Mt. Zion Methodist Church will host an ice cream sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27. Flavors include vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, banana and pineapple. Labor Day Gospel Concert A Labor Day Gospel Concert will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 5, at the Federalsburg Marina Park Pavilion in Federalsburg, Md. Featured artists include Judy Laramore, The Pickin' Pals with Jimmy Passwaters and One Day Closer from Cambridge, Md. Bring a chair and a friend. Concessions will be available and a love offering will be received.

Rev. Jim Hughes to speak The Rev. Jim Hughes of Malaga Camp, N.J., will be the guest minister on Sunday, Aug. 28, at Laurel-Mt. Pleasant United Methodist churches - King's at 8:50 a.m., St. George's at 10:10 a.m., Mt. Pleasant at 11:30 a.m. Hughes will present a biblical message through words and songs entitled, "Thomas." Annual Cemetery Rally New Zion United Methodist Church in Laurel is hosting its Annual Cemetery Rally on Sunday, Aug. 28. Many people in Laurel and the surrounding community have loved ones buried in either New Zion Cemetery or Mt. Olive Cemetery on 7th Street. We are asking for a $25 contribution. Annual Homecoming New Zion United Methodist Church in Laurel iscelebrating its Annual Homecoming on Sunday, Sept. 11, "Finding Home: Balancing Truth and Grace." Women's Ministries, Bible Study Women's Ministries and Bible Study starts back up at The Salvation Army on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 6:30 p.m. Located at 23431 Sussex Highway (behind La Plaza Tapatia). This group is open to all women, ages 16 and up and meets every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. A special, free dinner will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 13. For the fall, the group will be studying "When God's Spirit Moves," six sessions on the Life-Changing Power of the Holy Spirit by Jim Cymbala (pastor of the Brooklyn Tabernacle) and "Learning to Live Wisely through the Proverbs" by William Mouser (a Lifeguide Bible Study). Sunbeam/Girl Guards offered Girls in 3rd through 12th grade are invited to become a Sunbeam/Girl Guard at The Salvation Army. Come to a pizza/ice cream party with your mother/adult or female guardian on Friday, Sept. 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. at 23431 Sussex Highway (just behind La Plaza Tapatia). Sunbeams/Girl Guards is similar to other scouting programs but with a Christian curriculum. We meet almost every Friday throughout the school year to have dinner and fellowship, earn emblems, serve the community, make new friends and learn how to grow closer to God.
