Awana Clubs at Alliance Church Awana clubs are being held at Atlanta Road Alliance Church on Wednesdays from 6:45 to 8:25 p.m., for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. For 60 years, Awana has been a leader in childrens ministry, helping churches and parents worldwide raise youth to know, love and serve Christ. Sparks (K-second grade) ignites the curiosity of early elementary kids to learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ.Children enjoy the games and spending time with leaders and friends. T&T (Truth & Training) engages third- through sixth-graders by answering their questions about God and the Bible, guiding them through this pivotal life stage to grow in Christs grace. St. Lukes fundraiser St. Lukes Episcopal Church in Seaford will host a Night of Shopping on Thursday, Oct. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m., at Wheatons, formerly Tulls, along Stein Highway, Route 20 west. Wheatons will be open that evening to only those who have purchased a $5 admission ticket from a member of St. Lukes Church. That ticket will entitle you to a 20% discount on most of the stores merchandise. The Christmas shop will also be open for early holiday purchases. Dinner, tour at Christ Lutheran Christ Lutheran Church, located on Shipley Street in Seaford, is holding a dinner and tour of the church on Monday, Oct. 31 and Monday, Nov. 28. Invitations were mailed to approximately 200 of the churchs closest neighbors. Call the church at 629-9755 for more information.

Free weekly soup social A free weekly soup social is held every Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 510 S. Central Ave., Laurel. For details, call 875-4233.

Laurel Baptist Harvest Party A harvest party will be held at Laurel Baptist Church, 33056 B-State Blvd., on Friday, Oct. 28 from 6-8:30 p.m. We need children in costume to play games, enjoy food and fun. Special service at Clarence Street An appreciation service will be held for Alberta Waples at Clarence Street Church of God on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 6 p.m. All are welcome. The church is located at 744 Clarence St., Seaford.

No Name Band to perform The No Name Band will be at the Grace United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, on Friday, Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m. For further information, please contact Everett Warrington at 337-7198.

Tailgate for Jesus On Sunday, Nov. 6, men of Mt. Olivet UMC will hold their annual Tailgate for Jesus party. It will stat after the end of the 11 a.m. worship service. You are invited to attend the party and a special invitation is extended to those who wish to attend the worship service. Hamburgers, hot dogs, beans, potato salad, and all sorts of other tailgate food will be served. Come and enjoy good fellowship, food, and music with us. The Reunion Quartet in concert St. Pauls invites the community to participate in another great night of singing and fellowship. On Sunday, Oct. 30, the featured artist for the evening is The Reunion Quartet, a traditional southern gospel quartet. Christmas Extravaganza Trinity UMC on Phillips Hill Road in Laurel, will hold its annual Christmas Extravaganza on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come and browse our vendor tables which will feature a wide array of items perfect for your Christmas shopping needs. Several vendors have been confirmed: Pampered Chef, Lia Sophia, Christmas Florals, Shortys Legacy (handcrafted wooden toys, etc.) and a professional photographer who will take Christmas pictures and give you a CD so you can print pictures and cards for your family and friends. Gospel Café Every Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. there is a Gospel Cafe in the Fellowship Hall at Laurel Baptist Church. Free Christian entertainment, live bands, local talent. The church is located at 33056 Bi-State Blvd., Laurel.
