Awana Clubs at Alliance Church Awana clubs are being held at Atlanta Road Alliance Church on Wednesdays from 6:45 to 8:25 p.m., for children in Kindergarten through sixth grade. Sparks (K-second grade) ignites the curiosity of early elementary kids to learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ. T&T (Truth & Training) engages third- through sixth-graders by answering their questions about God and the Bible, guiding them through this pivotal life stage to grow in Christ's grace. Community Lenten Services For Christians, Ash Wednesday signifies the first day in the season of Lent, marking the liturgical period prior to Easter. This year the clergy of the Seaford Ministerium launched the Community Lenten Services on Ash Wednesday. St. John's United Methodist Church served as the host church to begin the noon services which will rotate to a different host church each Wednesday throughout Lent. Wednesday, March 7 - Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, 315 High St., Seaford Wednesday, March 14 - St. Luke's Episcopal, 202 North St., Seaford Wednesday, March 21 - Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Parish, 532 E. Stein Hwy., Seaford Worship begins at noon, ending at 12:25, lunch goes until 1 p.m. (or longer for those who do not need to get back to the office). For more information, call Rev. Free weekly soup social A free weekly soup social is held every Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 510 S. Central Ave., Laurel. For details, call 875-4233.

GriefShare program offered Community members who have experienced the death of a family member or friend are invited to register for the GriefShare program held at St. John's United Methodist Church. This program features Christ-centered, biblical teaching that focuses on grief topics associated with the death of a loved one. You will find encouragement, comfort and help in grieving the death of a spouse, child, parent, sibling, other family member or friend. Robert Collins and his wife, the Rev. Danese Collins will lead the sessions. Both leaders have completed additional course work in counseling the bereaved and grieving. GriefShare will be held on Wednesdays in the Wesley Lounge of St. John's United Methodist Church. To register or for questions, call 629-9466. Child care is not provided.

Gospel Café Gospel Cafe held every Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Laurel Baptist Church. Free Christian entertainment, live bands, local talent. Free classical piano concert The Seaford ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon) invites the public to celebrate the anniversary of the Relief Society with a free piano concert at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 23. Guest recitalist is Linda Field, co-founder of the Southern Delaware Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.

Coffee and snacks for servicemen Seaford Grace Baptist Church invites you every Tuesday afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. to sit at our round table to have coffee and snacks. Lenten worship, fellowship and study All Saint's Episcopal Church, 10th & Grove streets, Delmar, is offering an order of worship for the evening, followed by a soup supper, and viewing and discussion of The Teaching Company DVD, "The Cathedral," by Dr. William R. Gospel Cafe' celebrates anniversary The Gospel Cafe', 33056 Bi-State Blvd., Laurel, will celebrate its 7 year anniversary on Saturday, March 3. Doors open at 4 p.m. and food is served at 5 p.m. Music begins at 6 p.m. Similar to a Christian night club, The Gospel Cafe' offers food, fun and entertainment in a safe, family friendly atmosphere.

Epworth cemetery clean-up Prior to the Easter/spring season, Epworth Cemetery will be cleared of existing old, faded and non-seasonal arrangements in March. Recently placed arrangements will remain. Questions may be addressed to Jay Stevenson, caretaker, at 448-1686.

News from Trinity UMC Trinity UMC on Phillips Hill Road in Laurel is taking orders for homemade Easter Eggs. They will be available for pick-up or delivery the last week of March. There are 3 flavors: buttercream, coconut and peanut butter. Cost is $2.50 each. Call Barbara at 875-3582 to pre-order. Trinity UMC will show the movie "Courageous" at 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 18. Beef and dumpling dinner Mt. Zion Methodist Church will host a Beef and Dumpling dinner on Saturday, March 10. Dinner is served at 5 p.m. and carryouts are available at 4 p.m. The church is located on 13A between Seaford and Laurel.

Ladies of Lee from Lee The Ladies of Lee from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee will be appearing at Victory Tabernacle Church of God ,28261 Seaford Road, Laurel, on March 8, at 7 p.m. This group is the premier women's touring performance ensemble at Lee University. Established in 1965, Ladies of Lee has continued in nearly 45 years of ministry.
