Open mike Christian Night Open mike Christian Night will be held at the Lighthouse Church at 27225 Kaye Road, just off Rt. 9 County Seat Hwy., on the first and third Friday of every month through April 20, from 7-9 p.m. Free admission and free snacks. Bring your singing talents - cd or musical instrument. One person, group singers, young people to seniors welcome. Two hours of great fellowship, praise and worship through April 20. Governor's Prayer Breakfast May 3 The public is invited to attend the 52nd Annual Governor's Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, May 3, at the Modern Maturity Center in Dover. The focus of this year's event is "Compassion." The guest speaker will be author, pastor, and social activist Dr. Tony Campolo. The Modern Maturity Center is located at 1121 Forrest Ave., Dover. Doors open at 6:30 a.m., with the buffet breakfast beginning at 7. The program will begin promptly at 7:30 a.m. Tickets are $20 each or $200 for a table of 10. Military persons gathering Retired, active and inactive military persons, please join us. Grace Baptist Church Fellowship Hall is open every Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m., for all denominations who have served in any branch of our military to come and have free coffee and snacks with us. Kids items accepted Little Grace "Newborn & Children's Closet" at Grace United Methodist Church, 7 S. King St., Georgetown, is accepting newborn and children's clothing as well as any baby and kids items any time. Awana Clubs at Alliance Church Awana clubs are being held at Atlanta Road Alliance Church on Wednesdays from 6:45 to 8:25 p.m., for children in Kindergarten through sixth grade. Sparks (K-second grade) ignites the curiosity of early elementary kids to learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ. T&T (Truth & Training) engages third- through sixth-graders by answering their questions about God and the Bible, guiding them through this pivotal life stage to grow in Christ's grace. Free weekly soup social A free weekly soup social is held every Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 510 S. Central Ave., Laurel. For details, call 875-4233.

May Day at Epworth Christian Epworth Christian School in Laurel will hold May Day on Saturday, May 12. Applications are being accepted for craft vendors, independent consultants, etc. Cost is $50 for a 10x10 space. Tables and electric are available for an extra cost. Leadership conference The Leadercast Leadership Conference will be held at Laurel Wesleyan Church on Friday, May 4 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Ten world-renowned speakers including Andy Stanley, John Maxwell and Tim Tebow will be simulcast live via satellite from Atlanta, Ga. The Alleluias perform The Alleluias from Baltimore will present a service of praise and worship at Grace Baptist Church, 805 Atlanta Rd., Seaford, at their 10:45 a.m. service on Sunday, April 22. The Alleluias are an interdenominational group of Christian singers and musicians, dedicated to celebrating and worshiping God through the singing of His praise. The group is an all-volunteer Christian family that strives to share the good news of Jesus Christ through the lives of its members as well as through music. The church extends an invitation to the community to join them for this free concert. A love offering will be taken at the close of the service.

Gospel Café Gospel Cafe held every Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Laurel Baptist Church. Free Christian entertainment, live bands, local talent. The church is located at 33056 Bi-State Blvd., Laurel.

Thrift Shop open Saturdays St. John's Thrift Shop located at 259 N. Conwell St. in Seaford, is open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. A variety of infant, toddler, youth and adult clothing is available. Housewares, bedding and children's books are also available.
