Community Day Lifeway Church of God located at 7046 Seashore Hwy., (Rt. 404), Bridgeville, will hold a Community Day on Saturday, June 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The day includes a car show, tractor show, motorcycle ride, yard sale, vendors, food, water fun (kids should wear their swimsuits), music, demonstrations, health screening, silent auction and more. VBS at Laurel Baptist Church "Amazing Wonders: Aviation" is this year's theme for Vacation Bible School at Laurel Baptist Church. VBS at Centenary UMC Centenary United Methodist Church, Poplar and Market streets, Laurel, will hold Vacation Bible School, "Adventures on Promise Island" from June 25-29, 9 to 11:30 a.m. Children from the ages of 4 through 6th grade are welcome to attend. Each day children will learn through the Bible story, music, songs, crafts, games and snacks. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Register by picking up a form at the church office. The Ark VBS The Seaford Wesleyan Church (The Ark) will be holding Vacation Bible School June 26 thru June 29 with the ending finale on July 1 during the Sunday morning worship at 10:30. Carman live in concert The Fish Locker presents Carman Live on Friday, July 13, at the Holiday Park Campground in Greensboro, Md. Carman has packed stadiums and arenas for over 20 years and has sold 10 million records. Tickets are $12 and $15. Email or visit for ticket information. The fundraiser benefits the Soweto Orphanage & Widows Center outside Nairobi, Africa and a mission team to serve there.

Bible Boot Camp Laurel Wesleyan Church will hold VBS Sundays, "Bible Boot Camp," this summer. Find your place in God's plan Shiloh Ministries will host a weekend of teaching at the Redemption Depot, 209 West St., Berlin, Md., on Saturday, June 23 and Sunday, June 24. The ministry of Bill Yount will be presented from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. A complimentary lunch is included. Humility and humor characterize Yount's ministry as he encourages people to discover God's destiny for their lives. Author of the book I Heard Heaven Proclaim, Yount speaks around the U.S. and internationally. Robert and Annette Stagmer of Revelation 22 Ministries will speak at 10 a.m. on Sunday. Authors of numerous books, they travel worldwide. Both meetings will begin with praise and worship by Nandy and Marta Pizarro of Watchman's Sword Ministries. GriefShare program offered Community members who have experienced the death of a family member or friend are invited to register for the GriefShare program held at St. John's United Methodist Church.

This program features Christ-centered, biblical teaching that focuses on grief topics associated with the death of a loved one. Robert Collins and his wife, the Rev. Danese Collins, will lead the sessions. Both leaders have completed additional course work in counseling the bereaved and grieving. Consignment Boutique, Art Gallery The Church Mouse Consignment Boutique and Art Gallery, a mission of Union United Methodist Church in Bridgeville, is now open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. A selection of quality furniture, home décor and ladies accessories (jewelry, scarves, handbags) are for sale. Like items are accepted for consignment - the commission fee for these items are 40% to consignor for items selling under $100 and 50% for items over $100. Local art work is also on display and for sale. If you are a local artist and want to display your work for sale in the gallery section there is a fee of 10% for items priced under $50 and 15% for items $51-$150 and a 20% fee for items over $150. Open Mic Christian Night Open Mic Christian Night is held the first and third Friday from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Lighthouse Church, 27225 Kaye Rd., just off Rt. 9, County Seat Highway, at Dukes Lumber Road, through June. Bring your singing talents - CD or musical instruments. All singers and groups - young and old - are welcome. There are always a large array of singers lined up. Thrift Shop open Saturdays St. John's Thrift Shop located at 259 N. Conwell St. in Seaford, is open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. A variety of infant, toddler, youth and adult clothing is available. Housewares, bedding and children's books are also available.

Kids items accepted Little Grace "Newborn & Children's Closet" at Grace United Methodist Church, 7 S. King St., Georgetown, is accepting newborn and children's clothing as well as any baby and kids items any time.
