Lightning Strikes concert series The Lightning Strikes concert series, at The Lighthouse Church, located at 27225 Kaye Rd., just off Rt. 9, County Seat Highway at Dukes Lumber Road, Laurel, is held every second and fourth Saturday of the month. Salvation Army offers new program The Salvation Army Sussex Chapel has begun a new program this year, Music & Moore for area second and third graders. The goal of the program is to help improve reading skills through Mission: Literacy, a Christian based reading program designed to reinforce reading skills learned at school. The program meets Wednesdays after school from 3:45 to 6 p.m. at the Salvation Army on 23431 Sussex Hwy. For details, contact Lt. Aida L. Manso-Roln at 628-2020.

Divorce support group DivorceCare¨, a support group for adults experiencing the pain of divorce or separation, will meet on Wednesdays from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. through June 5, at Atlanta Road Alliance Church in Seaford. Childcare is not available, however, children in kindergarten through grade 6 may attend Awana and those in grades 7-12 may attend the youth group. Cost for class materials is $15. Griefshare class offered Griefshare, a special seminar and group support for people grieving the loss of someone close, will be offered at Encounter Praize at Christ Lutheran Church, Seaford. Griefshare is a non-denominational group that features Biblical teaching on grief and recovery. You are welcome to begin attending the Griefshare group at any session. One class will meet on Friday mornings from 9 to 11 and the second class will meet on Saturday evenings from 5 to 7 p.m. For more information, call 629-9755.

'Fit & Fun Fellowship' The Seaford Wesleyan Women meet once a week for a free night of "Fit & Fun Fellowship." All ladies are welcome to join us as we exercise our bodies and refresh our spirits. For details call 629-9859.

Harvest Christian welcomes Getz Harvest Christian Church in Seaford presents Leonard Getz, co-president of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of Zionists Organization of America at 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 28.

Getz will present, "Un-Masking the Myths of the Middle East." The Zionist Organization of America of Greater Philadelphia (ZOA) is the preeminent local organization publicly advocating on behalf of Israel and works along with the Christians United for Israel organization. With offices around the country and in Israel, the ZOA is dedicated to educating the public about the truth of the ongoing and relentless Arab war against Israel. Getz, a national vice president and national and local board member of the Zionist Organization of America, has given numerous speeches and published many articles and letters about Israel and the Middle East.

Union UMC Spring Festival Union United Methodist Church of Federalsburg will hold its second annual Spring Festival on Saturday, May 4, at 10 a.m. The children will enjoy inflatable rides like the moon bounce, a pull train and face painting. Hamburgers, french fries and sodas will be sold and a cake wheel and crafters will also be on hand. A plant sale will be held on Friday and Saturday, May 3 and 4, featuring many varieties available for purchase. On Friday evening, a crabcake dinner will be held in the fellowship hall from 5 to 7 p.m. for $12. Come out and enjoy this free spring event. Parking will be available behind the church which is located at 301 N. Main St., Federalsburg.

Events at New Zion UMC The women of New Zion UMC, 428 W. 6th St., Laurel will have an Oyster and Fried Fish sandwich and platter sale at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, in the dining hall. The Women's Day Committee of New Zion UMC will hold a "Queen for a Day" luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 11. National Day of Prayer Breakfast On Thursday, May 2, nationally known attorney, author and pastor Randy Singer will address the third annual Salisbury Area National Day of Prayer Breakfast. The event will be held in the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center. Doors open at 6:45 a.m.; program begins at 7:20. Singer has tried numerous high profile cases including the first jury trial in Virginia to receive gavel-to-gavel television coverage.Tickets for the breakfast are $20, available in Salisbury from The Country House and the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce or by mail.
