Homecoming at Trinity UMC Trinity UMC on Phillips Hill Road near Trap Pond in Laurel will celebrate 140 years of ministry in Laurel with a Homecoming Celebration from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29. Former pastor, the Rev. Paul Isaacs will be the guest speaker with music from All 4 Him and others during the service. Testimonies will be shared and a history video will be shown. Many former pastors have been invited and all former members and current friends are invited to share in this monumental celebration with us. A time of food and fellowship will follow the service with a love offering to help with the cost of the food. All are welcome in the love and name of Jesus Christ.

Christ UMC fundraiser dinner Christ United Methodist Church's Men of Faith will hold an all-you-can-eat Chicken 'n Dumpling fundraiser dinner, from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, at the church located at 510 S. Central Ave., Laurel. Dinner platters include chicken and dumplings, mashed potatoes, dressing, green beans, rolls, a dessert and a beverage (coffee, tea or water). Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children. Children 5 and under eat free. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. Guests can eat in or carry out. Pickups will be available beginning at 2 p.m., Sept 28. Large carryout orders (six or more) can be picked up before 2, but should be placed in advance by calling the church office at 875-4233. St. Stephens UMC fundraiser St. Stephens UMC will have a Love Light Tree to raise money for its many ministries. A Love Light Tree is a Christmas tree decorated with multi-color lights for Christmas andthe different colored lights represent different types of ways of honoring loved ones. A minimum of $5 is requested per light and larger gifts are welcome. Checks should be payable to St. Stephens Church with "Love Light Tree," in the memo. Griefshare class offered Griefshare, a special seminar and group support for people grieving the loss of someone close, will be offered at Encounter Praize at Christ Lutheran Church, Seaford. Griefshare is a non-denominational group that features Biblical teaching on grief and recovery. One class will meet on Friday mornings from 9 to 11 and the second class will meet on Saturday evenings from 5 to 7 p.m. Call 629-9755 for details. Church selling Cat's Meow replicas Christ Lutheran Church, in conjunction with Thrivent Financial, is selling Cat's Meow wooden replicas of their church building to benefit their food shelf. Open Mic Christian Night Open Mic Christian Night is the first and third Friday of every month from 7 to 9 p.m. at The Lighthouse Church located at 27225 Kaye Rd., just off Rt. 9, County Seat Highway at Dukes Lumber Road.

Bus trip to Sight and Sound Theater Union United Methodist Church (UUMC) in Bridgeville is taking a bus trip to Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster, Pa., to see "The Miracle of Christmas," on Friday, Dec. 6. Cost is $101.42 per person and includes bus, show and dinner at Miller's Smorgasboard. Reservations are being accepted along with a deposit of $50 per person. Final payment is due Friday, Nov. 15. Christian Writer's Conference Vine & Vessels Christian Writers Fellowship will host its 5th Annual 2013 "Connecting Pen To Purpose" Christian Writer's Conference on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Crossroad Community Church, Georgetown. National speaker, conference director, author, Marlene Bagnull, Litt.D will serve as the keynote speaker. MOPs group at Laurel Wesleyan The Laurel Wesleyan Church MOPs group invites all mothers of children from birth through age 5 to join our community of mothers as we learn, have fun, and support one another during this important season of life. Annual Roast Beef Dinner Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Seaford will serve their annual Roast Beef Dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25.
