Homecoming at Union UMC Union United Methodist Church in Bridgeville will hold its annual Homecoming Service, "Coming Home," at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Alfred Taylor and the Jubilee Ringers, the adult bell choir and The Joyful Ringers, the children's bell choir will perform. A meal will be held after the service in Fellowship Hall. Ladies Fall Conference Calvary Baptist Church in Georgetown presents its Ladies Fall Conference 2013, "Never Stop Coming," on Friday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 2 at 8:30 a.m. Keynote speaker is Joanna Arp from Clarks Summit, Pa. Hawaiian Luau at Christ Lutheran A Hawaiian Luau will be held at Christ Lutheran Church in Seaford from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9. Admission is free. There will be a silent auction, wild Hawaiian DJ and an a la carte food menu at affordable prices. Hawaiian dress is encouraged but not required. The menu includes pulled pork sweet barbecue sandwiches, hot dogs with Hawaiian relish, luau punch, banana nut cake, coleslaw, macaroni salad, pineapple upside down cake and ambrosia salad. Proceeds benefit the Christ Lutheran Food Shelf. Matching funds are available from Thrivent Financial.

Oyster/Chicken Salad Dinner Centenary United Methodist Church, Poplar and Market streets, Laurel, will hold an Oyster and Chicken Salad Dinner on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. Cost is $13 for adults, $6 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under. Carry outs are available.

'The Case for Creation' Kyle Butt, M.A., Apologetics Press, will present his "The Case for Creation" on Nov. 1-3. He will be at Seaford Middle School Auditorium on Nov. 1-2 and Seaford Church of Christ Auditorium on Nov. 3. Butt weaves scientific and historical evidence into the Biblical model of Creation, showing that true science does not contradict an accurate reading of the Bible. Hymn Sing The Kings Ambassadors will perform at the First Baptist Church of Delmar located at 501 Bi-State Blvd., Delmar, Md., on Sunday evening, Nov. 3, at 6. All are invited to come and share in Christian fellowship. Refreshments will be served.

Lightning Strikes concert series The Lightning Strikes concert series, at The Lighthouse Church, located at 27225 Kaye Rd., just off Rt. 9, County Seat Highway at Dukes Lumber Road, Laurel, is held every second and fourth Saturday of the month. Christmas Extravaganza Trinity UMC on Phillips Hill Road in Laurel near Trap Pond will hold its Annual Christmas Extravaganza from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2. Join us for one-stop shopping from many home vendors including Pampered Chef, Avon, Scentsy, Origami Owl, Thirty One, Longaberger and many handmade items including quilts, toys and decorations. Dinner at Mt. Nebo A dinner will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, at Mt. Nebo Fellowship Hall in Delmar. Community Action plans dinner First State Community Action Agency, a statewide non-profit helping low-income people become self-sufficient, is celebrating 48 years of service with an annual dinner and recognition ceremony, on Monday, Nov. 18, at Dover Downs Conference Center. The event, which will begin at 5:30 p.m., will feature a live auction, special music by Shades of Blue jazz ensemble, and nationally renowned preacher and educator, Dr. Tony Campolo, Ph.D. Dr. Campolo, professor emeritus of sociology at Eastern University in St. Davids, Pa., has authored 35 books and is the founder of the Evangelical Association for the Promotion of Education (EAPE).
