Surviving the Holidays seminar Do the holidays have a tendency to get you down? Have you lost a loved one and thoughts of them seem to pervade your every waking moment? If so, St. John's United Methodist Church in Seaford would like to recommend the "Surviving the Holidays" seminar that will be held Sunday, Nov. 17, at the church from 1 to 3 p.m. The seminar features video interviews with counselors, grief experts and other people who have experienced the holidays after their loved one's death and who offer practical suggestions and reassurance. Attendees will discover:
In addition, each participant will receive a "Holiday Survival Guide" with over 30 encouraging devotionals, helpful charts and tips to manage the holiday season during this difficult time. There is no charge to attend. Participation in "Surviving the Holidays" provides the opportunity for each attendee to meet with other grieving people who have undergone or who are undergoing similar experiences. No one will be forced to share. Since everyone grieves differently, church members will simply be there to receive and to offer support, a listening ear and compassion. In order to make sure the church has enough "Holiday Survival Guides" for everyone, organizers suggest that those who are interested should pre-register. This can be done by calling the church office at 629-9466 and asking them to add your name to the list of attendees. If you have questions, you may call that same number or email Pastor Collins at firstname.lastname@example.org.
