Benefit for Ethan Thompson Gethsemane UMC in Seaford will host a Benefit Auction to help 22-year-old Ethan Thompson who was injured this past summer and is now a quadriplegic. The auction will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11 in the church's Fellowship Hall. The church is in need of items to be auctioned. Drop off times for items is 9 a.m.-noon on Saturdays at the Fellowship Hall now through Oct. 4. Monetary donations may be made out to GUMC - noted for Ethan Thompson. American Music Theater trip Join Christ United Methodist Church in Laurel for a trip to the American Music Theater, Lancaster, Pa., to see their Christmas Show on Friday, Dec. 5. Blessing of the Animals On Saturday, Oct. 4 at 11 a.m., Bethel UMC of Oak Grove will celebrate the Feast Day of Saint Frances with a Blessing of the Animals. Everyone is invited to bring their animal friends in cages or on leashes to receive words of thanksgiving from Pastor Charles Kind. All critters, big and small, including humans, will receive a goodie bag of treats. Bethel UMC is located west of Seaford at 2381 Neal's School Road. In case of rain, the event will be canceled.

Gospel Experience 2014 Storm Shelter Ministry presents Gospel Experience 2014 on Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Seaford Banquet Hall (Fire Hall). Appearing will be Jay Caldwell & The Gospel Ambassadors, Nu Found Joy, Sons of Christ, Darryl Tindley Jr. and Love Defined Band. Doors open at 4 p.m. Soul food platters will be sold. Rummage Sale St. Luke's Episcopal Church will hold a Rummage Sale from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Parish House in Seaford. Gospel Concert with the Watson's Wesley UMC on Atlanta Road in Seaford will hold a Gospel Concert with Greg and Teresa Watson at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14. Award winning Gospel singers, Greg and Teresa have held the International Platinum Bluegrass/Gospel artist award since 2007. Family and Friends Day Help us celebrate Family and Friends Day at Ross Point Freedom Church at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14. Guest preacher will be the Rev. Dr. Jesse E. C. Abbott and congregation from New Dimensions Ministries, Salisbury, Md.

Concert pianist at First Baptist G. Richard Deal, national concert pianist and recording artist, will present a piano concert of inspirational music at First Baptist Church of Seaford at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28. Deal, of the Chicago, Ill. area, has presented concerts all over the world. He arranges his own sacred piano arrangements and has released six professional recordings. Admission is free and a freewill offering will be taken.

King's Ambassadors The King's Ambassadors, men's quartet, will be in concert at Grace Baptist Church, 805 Atlanta Rd., Seaford, at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14. This group, originally from Parsonsburg, MD show God's love through Gaither-style Southern Gospel music and testimonies. The members of Grace invite the community to share in this blessed evening service. There is no charge; though a love offering will be accepted.

Gospel Hymn Sing Victory Junction will hold a Gospel Hymn Sing at Long Neck United Church, Long Neck Road, Millsboro, on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 6-8 p.m., featuring Reunion, Bill Primrose and Joe Dawson.

Open Mike Christian Night Open Mike Christian Night is the first and third Friday of every month from 7 to 9 p.m. at The Lighthouse Church. Free admission and free snacks.
