Christmas events at Concord UMC Concord United Methodist Church in Seaford invites the public to attend the following events and share in the joy of the holiday season. Events at Messiah's Vineyard Messiah's Vineyard Church in Laurel is offering the following holiday events: Kid's Christmas Program - The community is invited to a special Christmas program presented by MVC Kid's on Sunday, Dec. 21 at 9:30 a.m. Live animals, zip-lining angels, bell choir, special songs and dance. Christmas Eve Service - Wednesday, Dec. 24 from 6-7 p.m. - worship, message, candlelight communion.

Christmas at St. Luke's St. Luke's Episcopal Church on Front Street in Seaford, announces its schedule for Advent and Christmas. Advent, the season to listen and reflect which began Nov. 30, includes the following special services and programs:
  • Advent in Worship - Sundays at 9 a.m., Dec. 21
  • Christmas Eve Celebration - Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 8 p.m.
  • Christmas Morning - Dec. 25, at 9 a.m.

Centenary Christmas services Centenary United Methodist Church, 200 W. Market St., Laurel, Youth Choir will present a Cantata entitled, "David's Dynasty," on Sunday, Dec. 21, at 10 a.m. Christmas Eve services will be held at 7 p.m. with Communion at 10 p.m.

Jeannette to lead services While Pastor Blair Hall takes the Christmas weekend off to visit family, Jimmy Jeannette will bring a message of scripture and music to Asbury United Methodist Church on Rt. 9 near Hardscrabble at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28. Jeannette always brings a meaningful message with his beautiful music. A professional mail carrier, Jeannette is as comfortable in the pulpit as in his postal vehicle. Everyone is welcome.

Christmas Eve Service Come join us in celebrating the birth of Jesus. We know "Jesus is the reason for the season." Join us at Seaford Nazarene as we worship and praise the Lord on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 7 p.m. The church is located on Rt. 13 South. Everyone is welcome.

Candlelight service Todds Chapel, Greenwood, will hold a candlelight service of lessons and carols at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23. All are welcome to attend. Events at St. Paul's St. Paul's UMC Church invites the community to a night of music at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28. The theme of the program, Sounds of the Season, celebrates the Christmas season. This is a chance to unwind, rest and reflect after all the noise, rush and stress of the holiday. The program will feature Thom Slaughter of Second Wind Ministries and a love offering will be taken to benefit Thom's ministry.

Ring in the New Year at St. Paul's with worship and music featuring The Sounds of Joy at 10 p.m. on New Year's Eve. Join us for an evening that will speak to your heart, lift your spirits and reflect on the blessings that a New Year can bring. Longest Night Service Christmas can be a painful time. It may be the first Christmas without a loved family member who has recently died; it may be a time that has always been difficult. Broken relationships, the insecurity of unemployment, the weariness of ill health, the pain of isolation can make us feel alone in the midst of the celebrating. Providence United Methodist Church offers a special "Longest Night" service on Friday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. The church is located on Shortly Road in Georgetown. Open Mic Christian Night Open Mic Christian Night, sponsored by Compassionate Shepherd Ministries, will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, at The Lighthouse Church. Enjoy a night of Christmas music featuring Phil Davis, Gloria Holland and more. Free admission, free snacks and free gift giveaway night. Bring canned goods for our Christmas boxes. Musical at Atlanta Road Alliance The Atlanta Road Alliance Church choir, under the direction of Richard Trice, will present "My Heart Longs for Christmas" on Friday, Dec. 19 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 21, at 11 a.m. This new musical is a combination of traditional carols and remarkable songs reminding us that, while all the trimmings of Christmas are good, the deepest longing of our hearts is for Jesus. Cookie and fudge sale Homemade Christmas cookie and fudge sale at Christ the Cornerstone Community Church in Laurel from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20. Scrapple sandwiches will be available.

Hat, Scarf, Mitten Drive Don's Tree Farm in association with Georgetown Presbyterian Church is collecting new hats, scarves and mittens for local schools, Boys and Girls Clubs and other local charities. New cookbook at Mt. Olivet Christmas is coming and Mt. Olivet UMC has just completed a new 2014 cookbook with over 300 recipes and lots of helpful information for today's cook. Cost is $12 per cookbook. Call 629-4458 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. to reserve your cookbook for Christmas delivery.

Griefshare at St. John's Griefshare is being offered by St. John's United Methodist Church, 300 N. Pine St., Seaford, from 4-5:30 p.m., in the Wesley Lounge.
