Open Mic Christian Night Open Mic Christian Night will be held on Friday, Feb. 6 from 7-9 p.m. Join us for a special concert night with the singing group God's Country Crossroads. New singers will also perform. Free admission and snacks. Sponsored by Compassionate Shepherd Ministries located at The Lighthouse Church, 27225 Kaye Rd., Laurel. Events at St. Stephens UMC The following events will be held at St. Stephens United Methodist Church in Delmar in February: Saturday, Feb. 7 - Spaghetti Dinner & Ugly Sweater Contest - 4-7 p.m. Adults - $10, Kids - $6 and Ages 3 and under - free. Tickets will be sold at the door. Tuesday, Feb. 17 - Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner. Call the church office at 846-9501 for more information. Sunday, Feb. 22 - After Church Social hosted by the trustees - noon. Services are held on Sundays - 9 a.m. - contemporary praise service; 10 a.m. - KIDZ & adult Sunday school; 11 a.m. - traditional service & KIDZ church.

First Baptist gospel concert Delmar First Baptist Church, Delmar, Md., will have a gospel concert at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15, featuring the Bay City Quartet from Annapolis, Md. Come join us and enjoy some good 'ole Southern Gospel music with refreshments after the singing. There is no admission charge, but a love offering will be taken. Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper Centenary UMC, Poplar & Market St., Laurel, will hold a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17. All-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, scrapple, potatoes, orange juice, eggs and coffee. Ages 12 and up, $7; ages 3-11, $3; children under 3, free.

Fundraiser for Code Purple "Show a Little Bit of Love & Kindness!," a benefit for Love INC's Code Purple Fund, will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31, at Atlanta Road Alliance Church, Seaford. Code Purple is activated in Delaware when the nighttime temperature is frigid or a winter storm is forecast. Homeless individuals are able to go to a Code Purple shelter for a meal and a safe, warm place to sleep. Stein Highway Church of God is among several places in Sussex County that have recently become Code Purple shelters. The benefit will include a silent auction, bake sale, and dessert concession.

Proceeds will go toward the purchase of blankets, cots, food, utilities, toiletries and other costs associated with sheltering the homeless during dangerous weather conditions. The event is free, parking is free. Cash and checks payable to Love INC Code Purple Fund, will be accepted for purchases made at the event. For more information, call Love INC at 629-7050.

Events at Concord UMC The following events will take place at Concord United Methodist Church: Feb. 11 & 25 - Wednesdays, 7 p.m. - Bible Study Saturday, Feb. 21, 1:30 p.m. - Oyster sandwiches, homemade desserts & beverages March 11 & 18, Wednesdays, 7 p.m. - Bible Study Saturday, March 14, 5-6:30 p.m. - Beef & Dumpling Dinner Sunday Services - 9 a.m. worship followed by Sunday School at 10:30 a.m. Concord UMC is located at 25322 Church Rd. Roadshow and Annual Meeting The board of directors of Old Christ Church League invites you to an evening of social hour, dinner, and The Broadcreek Roadshow on Saturday, Feb. 7, at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Laurel. Artifacts from Old Christ Church, including antique pieces from the altar service, will be on display. These pieces, which include pewter and silver, have been kept in secure storage for many years, so an opportunity to see this collection is not to be missed. Members of the board of directors of Old Christ Church League will serve as historical experts for The Broadcreek Roadshow. Social hour will begin at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 and the annual meeting at 8. Cost is $20 per person. RSVP by Friday, Jan. 30.
