Chicken and Dumpling Dinner The Woodland United Methodist Church Chicken and Dumpling dinner scheduled for 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, has been cancelled due to forecasted inclement weather. The next scheduled dinner is Saturday, March 21.

Open Mic Christian Night Open Mic Christian Night will be held on Friday, Feb. 20, from 7 to 9 p.m. at The Lighthouse Church, 27225 Kaye Rd., Laurel. Join us for Jesus Party Night with the singing group The Veasey Family from Millsboro and Bev and Merv Lowman plus many more singers. This will be a full night of gospel and praising. Free admission and snacks. Sponsored by Compassionate Shepherd Ministries. Coming in March is The Island Boys concert. A love offering will be taken for our many local outreach programs. Pilgrimage Tour meeting On Sunday afternoon, Feb. 22, at 5, there will be an information meeting at Centenary United Methodist Church (200 W. Market St., Laurel) regarding an ecumenical Holy Land Pilgrimage Tour for churches in Laurel and the surrounding area. This will be an 11-day tour from Jan. 25 through Feb. 4, 2016, which includes international airfare, first class tour bus and hotel accommodations, a licensed tour guide, all entrance fees and more. All pastors, members and friends of all churches are invited to attend this meeting (which should not last more than an hour), that will provide information about the tour and an opportunity to ask questions. AUCE Spaghetti Dinner An AUCE Spaghetti Dinner will be held at Christ the Cornerstone Community Church in Laurel from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21. Dinner includes salad, garlic bread, dessert and drink.

Rainbows for Children St. John's United Methodist Church, located at 300 N. Pine St., Seaford, will be offering Rainbows for Children starting March 1 in the Wesley Lounge.

This is a 13 week volunteer program to assist children coping with loss due to divorce, death, deployment or separation. Due to the nature of the program, preregistration is required at 629-9466. Children ages 5-8 and parents are invited to join the church for an introductory 30 to 40 minute session.

Spaghetti Dinner Christ United Methodist Church Youth Group will hold an All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti Dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22. Cost is $10 per ticket.

'Journey Through Grief' workshop Union United Methodist Church, Bridgeville, will hold a "Journey Through Grief" workshop sponsored by the church's Caring Congregation Committee on Thursday evening, Feb. 26, in the Fellowship Hall. The event will begin at 5 p.m. with a soup and sandwich dinner followed by the workshop at 5:45. Guest speaker will be Midge DiNatale, B.A., GC-C from Hospice in Milford. The event is free and open to anyone who is struggling or continuing to struggle with the loss of a loved one. Pre-registration is not required but would be appreciated so that planning can be made for meal and materials. Nichols family in concert The Nichols sisters and family will be in concert at 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, at John Wesley UMC on 9509 Athol Rd., Mardela Springs, Md.

'Paint it Forward' An Aftershock Mission Trip Fundraiser will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, March 30, at Gethsemane UMC Fellowship Hall in Seaford. Cost is $30 and includes canvas and use of paint and brushes. The painting is called 'Branching Out.' Recommended ages are 10 and up. Register online at www.gumcseaford.com/aftershock-youth-group. Bus Trip to NYC St. Stephens UMC is offering a bus trip to NYC on Saturday, May 16. Cost is $45 per person which covers the bus, tip to driver and a small donation to the church. Money and signed waiver are due to the church office by Sunday, April 12. The bus will depart Walmart, North Salisbury, at 5:30 a.m., arrive in NYC around 10:30 a.m. and depart NYC at 7 p.m. The bus will drop off and pick up in Times Square near 51st and Broadway.
