Balling For God' The Community Outreach Team of New Zion UMC will host its 11th Annual "Balling for God" Basketball tournament and Block Party on Saturday, June 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Webb Avenue in Laurel, by Paul Laurence Dunbar Elementary School. There are four players per team; age brackets are 6-8, 9-11, 12-14, and 15-18. All players will need a signed permission slip to play. Trophies and medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. To enter a team, contact Sherita Belle at 302-253-8582. There will also be a three point and foul shooting contest. Annual Fish Fry Centenary United Methodist Church in Laurel will hold their annual Fish Fry from 4-6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 13. Come and enjoy a fried fish dinner which includes potato salad, coleslaw, green beans, greens, applesauce and dessert. Cost is $12 for adults, $5 for ages 6-12 and free for kids ages 6 and under. Take-outs will be available. Help support Centenary Church while enjoying a dinner prepared by church members.

Open Mic Christian Night Open Mic Christian Night, sponsored by Compassionate Shepherd Ministries, is Friday, June 5, from 7-9 p.m., at The Lighthouse Church in Laurel. Join us for 'Aloha Night' and celebrate summer and wear your Leis for Praise. Appearing will be many local and new singers. Enjoy the praise music of Connie and Allen Reustle, Wilson Sturgis, Gloria Holland, Bill Sando, Tammy Smith, Millie West and Dean Adkins and more. Join us for a full night of gospel and praising. Sandwich Sale Delmar Church of God of Prophecy in Laurel will hold a Sandwich Sale on Saturday, June 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale includes oyster sandwiches, crab cakes, soft crabs, chicken salad and more. Special service at St. Paul's St. Paul's UMC in Laurel invites the public to join us as we welcome Teen Challenge on Sunday, June 7, at the 11 a.m. service. Executive Director Bob Carey will give the message and the Teen Challenge Praise band will share their unique gifts. A love offering will be taken to benefit their ministry.

Vacation Bible School Mount Olivet UMC in Seaford will hold Vacation Bible School on June 22-26 from 5:30-8 p.m. This year's theme is SonSpark Labs, where our little scientists will discover all about God's love. There are classes for Pre-K (ages 3 and potty-trained) through children entering 6th grade. Registration forms are available on the church website or through the church office by calling 629-4458. A light dinner will be provided each night beginning at 5 p.m. The cost for dinner is $3/adults and $1.50 for kids.

Grand Old Gospel Concert Nanticoke Senior Center, Seaford, will present their annual Grand Old Gospel Concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 13. VBS at Gethsemane Gethsemane United Methodist Church will be offering Camp Discovery Vacation Bible School on July 6-9, 6-8 p.m. Kids who are potty trained and will be 3-years-old by Aug. 31 through kids entering fifth grade this fall are welcome to attend. Kids will have fun as they explore the Bible, sing songs, play games, and do crafts while discovering how Jesus works through them in their everyday lives. VBS, camps at Union UMC Union United Methodist Church in Bridgeville will host Vacation Bible School from June 15-19, for children ages five to 10. Activities include Bible stories, outdoor play, crafts, snacks, and much more. Join us for G-Force! Hours are 9 a.m. to noon. Afternoon activities are available for $25. Em-ing's Take-Out Chicken Dinner Em-ing's Take-Out Chicken Dinner will be held at Christ Lutheran Church in Seaford on Saturday, June 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dinners are $11 each. Beverages are sold separately. Dinner includes a half piece of chicken, two sides, fresh roll and butter. To place an order, call the church office at 629-9755. Gospel Music Concert Delmar Church of God of Prophecy presents a Gospel Music Concert with the Walkers at 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 7. Come enjoy the southern country gospel style of the Walkers who have traveled throughout the United States and Canada. Two of their songs, "Waiting for the Son to Rise" and "Not the Same" have made the Top 10 Gospel List. They were named Group of the Year by the Inspirational Country Music Association in 2013. VBS at Our Lady of Lourdes Church Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Mt. Everest Vacation Bible School for kids ages 4-12, will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 19 through Thursday, July 23, at the Parish Hall. Handbell Concert in Salisbury St. Peters Episcopal and Wicomico Presbyterian churches in Salisbury will combine musicians, handbells and chimes for a Concert of Ringing on Sunday, June 7 at 4 p.m. The performance will be held in the Langeler Memorial Building, 225 N. Division St. Concert admission is free but donations are welcome for the music ministries of both churches. The program includes an engaging variety of sacred and secular music, from "Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho" to selections from "The Phantom of the Opera." Susan Zimmer and Bruce Horner direct.
