Summer services The board of directors of Old Christ Church League welcomes you to summer services at Old Christ Church, Laurel, at 10 a.m. on the first Sunday of July, August and September. Celebrant will be the Rev. Howard Backus. A free will offering will be taken for the preservation and restoration of Old Christ Church.

Special music at Blackwater Joe Dawson Music Ministry will provide special music at Blackwater Fellowship Church in Frankford at the 6 p.m. service on Sunday, June 14. Everyone is welcome.

VBS at Concord UMC Concord United Methodist Church in Seaford invites children in grades Pre-K and up to Vacation Bible School, "G-FORCE, God's Love In Action!," from 6-8:30, nightly, Monday, June 15 through Friday, June 19. Renewal Regional Camp Meeting The Renewal Regional Camp Meeting will take place June 21-24, at the Renewed Chesapeake Center (Seaford) at 14192 Cokesbury Rd., Georgetown. The meeting will start at 6 p.m. on Sunday; Monday through Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. and Wednesday Youth service at 7 p.m. There will also be a special tribute to military veterans at 7 p.m. on Monday and a Wednesday Youth emphasis at 6 p.m. with Ryan Shawyer, Chris Lockemy, and Josh Robinson. Morning guest speakers will be James Izzard and Jerry Elder and the evening guest speakers will be Dr. Wallace Sibley (Sunday), Dave Roever (Monday), Joycelyn Barnett (Tuesday), and Kevin McGlamery (Wendesday). Voices of Lee will also be featured Monday night.

Annual Fish Fry Centenary United Methodist Church in Laurel will hold their annual Fish Fry from 4-6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 13. Come and enjoy a fried fish dinner which includes potato salad, coleslaw, green beans, greens, applesauce and dessert. Cost is $12 for adults, $5 for ages 6-12 and free for kids ages 6 and under. Take-outs will be available. Help support Centenary Church while enjoying a dinner prepared by church members.

Sandwich Sale Delmar Church of God of Prophecy in Laurel will hold a Sandwich Sale on Saturday, June 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale includes oyster sandwiches, crab cakes, soft crabs, chicken salad and more. Vacation Bible School Mount Olivet UMC in Seaford will hold Vacation Bible School on June 22-26 from 5:30-8 p.m. This year's theme is SonSpark Labs, where our little scientists will discover all about God's love. There are classes for Pre-K (ages 3 and potty-trained) through children entering 6th grade. Registration forms are available on the church website or through the church office by calling 629-4458. A light dinner will be provided each night beginning at 5 p.m. The cost for dinner is $3/adults and $1.50 for kids.

Grand Old Gospel Concert Nanticoke Senior Center, Seaford, will present their annual Grand Old Gospel Concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 13. Doors open at 6 p.m. The concert will feature WBOC personality Jimmy Hoppa as emcee, Jerry Jones, The Wacaster Family and Tommy Barlow. VBS at Gethsemane Gethsemane United Methodist Church will be offering Camp Discovery Vacation Bible School on July 6-9, 6-8 p.m. Kids who are potty trained and will be 3-years-old by Aug. 31 through kids entering fifth grade this fall are welcome to attend. Kids will have fun as they explore the Bible, sing songs, play games, and do crafts while discovering how Jesus works through them in their everyday lives. Gethsemane is located at 2701 Woodland Ferry Rd., Rt. 20, four miles west of Seaford. While not mandatory, early registration is encouraged. Prayer Breakfast The Church of God and Saints of Christ on Concord Road, Seaford, will hold a Prayer Breakfast on Saturday, June 20. VBS, camps at Union UMC Union United Methodist Church in Bridgeville will host Vacation Bible School from June 15-19, for children ages five to 10. Activities include Bible stories, outdoor play, crafts, snacks, and much more. Join us for G-Force! Hours are 9 a.m. to noon. Afternoon activities are available for $25. The more you attend the more you save. Weekly themes are always different and vary from superheroes to science; nothing is ever repeated. Em-ing's Take-Out Chicken Dinner Em-ing's Take-Out Chicken Dinner will be held at Christ Lutheran Church in Seaford on Saturday, June 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dinners are $11 each. Beverages are sold separately. Dinner includes a half piece of chicken, two sides, fresh roll and butter. To place an order, call the church office at 629-9755. The office is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The last day to call in an order is June 23. A limited number of dinners will be available for walk-in customers. Seating will be available for those who want to eat in.Proceeds benefit the Christ Lutheran/Thrivent Financial Food Shelf - Needy People Fund.
