Annual Ice Cream Social Zoar UMC in Millsboro will hold its Annual Ice Cream Social from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, in the Church Hall. Outdoor Gospel Music Fest St. Paul's UMC in Laurel will hold their 8th Annual Outdoor Gospel Music Festival at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 18. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy The Murray Family, Sounds of Joy, Reunion and The Island Boys. Hamburgers, hot dogs, homemade ice cream and more will be for sale. Hymn Sing at St. Paul's St. Paul's UMC Church in Laurel invites the community to this month's Hymn Sing featuring The Island Boys on Sunday, June 28. Nicknamed the "Bill Gaither and Mark Lowry" of the Eastern Shore, The Island Boys are known for their love of people and strong vocals. Danny Travers of Deal Island and Ernie Evans of Smith Island have been singing together for the glory of God for six years. The program starts at 5 p.m. and a love offering will be taken to benefit their music ministry.

VBS at Centenary UMC Centenary United Methodist Church, Poplar & Market Sts., Laurel, will hold Vacation Bible School, "Camp Discovery," from 9-11:30 a.m. on July 6-10.

Children ages 4-12 are welcome to attend. Children will learn through the Bible story, music, songs, crafts, games and snacks. Pre-registration is encouraged. Forms are available at the church side entrance or by email at

VBS at Gethsemane U.M. Church Gethsemane United Methodist Church will hold Camp Discovery Vacation Bible School from 6-8 p.m. on July 6-9, for kids who will be 3 by Aug. 31 and potty trained, through kids who will be entering fifth grade this fall. Kids will have fun as they explore the Bible, sing songs, play games, and do crafts while discovering how Jesus works through them in their everyday lives. Summer services The board of directors of Old Christ Church League welcomes you to summer services at Old Christ Church, Laurel, at 10 a.m. on the first Sunday of July, August and September. Celebrant will be the Rev. Howard Backus. A free will offering will be taken for the preservation and restoration of Old Christ Church.

Em-ing's Take-Out Chicken Dinner Em-ing's Take-Out Chicken Dinner will be held at Christ Lutheran Church in Seaford on Saturday, June 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dinners are $11 each. Beverages are sold separately. Dinner includes a half chicken, two sides, fresh roll and butter. To place an order, call the church office at 629-9755. The office is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The last day to call in an order is June 23. A limited number of dinners will be available for walk-in customers.
