Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church in Delmar will hold a Back to School Service at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 16. School supplies will be given to all youth present. VBS at Christ Lutheran
The BSSP Program at Christ Lutheran Church, 315 N. Shipley St., Seaford, will host its summer Vacation Bible School program on Aug. 10-14, for mentally challenged youth and adults. The theme is Camp Discovery - Jesus at Work Through Us.
Students will learn that Jesus is our true north. Students will sing, pray and learn that Jesus provides the courage, wisdom and love we need to discover Gods plan and purpose for our lives, right now, right where we are.
A light dinner with be served daily from 6-6:30 p.m. Class is from 6:30-8 p.m. Bible stories will be told by a storyteller, along with puppets, music, games and crafts.

VBS at Church of God
Church of God of Prophecy, 22699 Bridgeville Hwy., Seaford; will hold Vacation Bible School on Aug. 10-12 from 6-8 p.m. for children ages 3-12. This years theme is Journey to the Manger. Windsor to present musical worship
While Pastor Blair Hall is away from Asbury United Methodist Church, Tony Windsor will offer a musical worship special at the 9:15 a.m. service on Sunday, Aug. 2. This will be a return visit as the members of Asbury enjoyed Windsors previous presentation. All are welcome to the church which is located on Rt. 9, between the Hardscrabble light and Sussex Tech.

The Harvesters Quartet
Join us at Delmar First Baptist Churchat 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1 for an evening of southern gospel music with The Harvesters Quartet from North Carolina. Known for their close harmony and friendliness, this group will present a program of uplifting and inspirational music. Admission is free but a love offering will be taken.

Rainbows for Children, Griefshare
St. Johns United Methodist Church, 300 Pine St., Seaford, is offering Rainbows for Children, ages 9-14. This is a volunteer program which helps children cope with loss due to separation, divorce, death or deployment. Due to the nature of the program preregistration is required. The program will last 45 minutes for 13 weeks. Parents are invited to join us at the introductory season on Sunday, Sept. 13. Call 245-7012 or 629-9466 by Aug. 24, to register.
St. Johns is also offering Griefshare starting Sept. 13 at 4:30 p.m. This 90-minute program is a 13 week support group for people who are grieving the loss of someone close to them. Each Griefshare session includes a video, group discussion and workbook to assist with note taking. Since you do not have to attend sessions in order, you are welcome to begin attending Griefshare at any session. Topics include Living with Grief, Journey of Grief, Why, Stuck in Grief and Heaven. The board of directors of Old Christ Church League welcomes you to summer services at Old Christ Church, Laurel, at 10 a.m. on the first Sunday of August and September. Celebrant will be the Rev. Howard Backus. A free will offering will be taken for the preservation and restoration of Old Christ Church.
St. Johns UM Church to hold 15th annual school supply drive
St. Johns United Methodist Church in Seaford is holding its 15th annual school supplies drive. The drive started the first week in July and will run through Sunday, Aug. 16.
Last year nearly $7,000 in supplies were collected for needy Seaford students. We challenge everyone to come together for our kids because theyre out tomorrows leaders, said school drive coordinator Ruth Rhoades. Families in need of school supplies for children are encouraged to go to their schools guidance office to find out how to receive supplies from the drive. All the supplies collected by St. Johns stays in Seaford. The communities of Georgetown, Greenwood, Laurel, Delmar, and Bridgeville have there own school supply drives. St. Johns will pack up its supplies on Monday, Aug. 17.
