Sunday School resumes Sept. 13 Mount Olivet United Methodist Church Sunday School will resume on Sunday, Sept. 13. Everyone is welcome. Classes, which meet from 9:45-10:45 a.m., are available for all ages from nursery through adults. Five different adult classes are available. Visit for more information. Snacks are available in the Fellowship Hall before Sunday School every Sunday. Again this year, prizes will be given at random to children and youth who attend. Two names will be selected each month; one name for kids in fifth grade and younger and another from youth in sixth grade and older. Children may also select a prize from the prize basket at the direction of their teacher. Mount Olivet United Methodist is located at 315 High St., Seaford. Annual Homecoming at New Zion New Zion United Methodist Church in Laurel will celebrate their Annual Homecoming on Sunday, Sept. 13. The morning service begins at 10 a.m. and the afternoon service begins at 3:30 p.m. The Rev. Robert L. Johnson of Tindley Temple UMC in Philadelphia, Pa., the afternoon preacher, will be accompanied by the Gospel Chorus and congregation. Friends and Family Day Ross Point Freedom Church in Seaford will hold the sixth Friends and Family Day at the church on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 3:30 p.m. Guest preacher will be Pastor Jonathan Dukes of Word of Life Community Church, Lincoln.

Open Mic Christian Night Compassionate Shepherd Ministries presents Open Mic Christian Night on Friday, Sept. 4 from 7-9 p.m. at The Lighthouse Church, 27225 Kaye Rd., Laurel. Everyone is welcome to join us for the End of Summer Praise Night featuring a full night of gospel and praising. Spend a cool evening listening to new gospel singers and our favorites. Sandwich Sale Delmar Church of God of Prophecy in Laurel will hold a Sandwich Sale on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale includes oyster sandwiches, crab cakes, soft crabs, chicken salad and more. Outdoor Gospel Concert St. George's United Methodist Church, 34894 St. George Rd., Delmar, will host an outdoor gospel concert - bring your own lawn chair - at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19. In the event of rain, the concert will be held in the church. Singers will be Kings Ambassadors, Bay City and Greg and Teresa Watson from Nashville. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, desserts, soda and bottled water will be available for purchase. Everyone is welcome. Come prepared to receive a blessing.

Gospel music at Park Lane On Saturday, Sept. 26 at 5 p.m., Park Lane Church of God in Federalsburg, Md. will welcome the following gospel singers: The Joy Boyz, Nashville, Tenn.; Brooklyn All Stars, Brooklyn, N.Y.; Preacher Pap -n- The Gospel Invisibles, Newark, N.J.; Gospel Souls, Federalsburg; Carolyn Veney Spence, Baltimore, Md.; and Gospel Deliverers, Cambridge, Md.

Taylor Family concert postponed Due to scheduling conflict the Taylor Family will not be singing at the Delmar Wesleyan Church on Saturday Sept. 12.

Labor Day Festival Delmar First Baptist Church will hold its annual Labor Day gospel singing and antique car show on Monday, Sept. 7 at the church. The car show will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and singing from noon to 3 p.m. under the church pavilion. Singers will be The Delmarva Ramblers, The Dove Quartet, Phil Davis, The Holley Brothers, Dottie Lynch and Roger Shiles, Frank Silva, Wilson Sturgis, and Warren and Sarah Webster. Living Proof Simulcast Union United Methodist, 2 N. Laws St., Bridgeville, is currently the only church on the Delmarva Peninsula hosting this year's Living Proof Simulcast with Beth Moore. The simulcast takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12. Seating is limited and will fill up quickly. Call the church office at 337-7409 to reserve your spot before Aug. 21. Rainbows for Children, Griefshare St. Johns United Methodist Church, 300 Pine St., Seaford, is offering Rainbows for Children, ages 9-14. St. John's is also offering Griefshare starting Sept. 13 at 4:30 p.m. This 90-minute program is a 13 week support group for people who are grieving the loss of someone close to them.
