Gospel Cafe The Gospel Cafe will be held at Christ Evangelistic Church in Laurel at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3. Dinner by Marilyn's Catering will be held at 5 p.m. Dinner tickets are $10 each and include an entree, dessert and drink. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Teen Challenge. Ryan and Friends to appear Ryan & Friends (ventriloquist and comedian) will appear at Atlanta Road Alliance Church in Seaford at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17. Churches merge congregations Abundant Life Christian Church has joined services with Christ the Cornerstone Community Church located at the corner of Bethel and Seaford roads. Sunday services are at 8:30 and 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Pastor Rick Elzey has retired and Pastor Shawn Willey is the new pastor with a view towards growth and community service. A community gathering - Family Movie Night - will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25. The movie Do You Believe will be shown and refreshments will be served. Everyone is welcome.

Food pantry benefit luncheon Sailors Bethel UM Church in Bethel will hold a luncheon on Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Bethel Community House and Town Hall Building located at 7769 Main St., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The town and church hope to help Social Services in Laurel fill their food pantry for the coming holidays. Come join us for lunch and bring a canned food item. Lunch consists of cream of crab and vegetable beef soup, chicken salad or tavern ham and cheese sandwiches and cupcakes. Everyone is invited to come help us help others.
