Disaster relief concert The Bethany Church of the Brethren will hold a concert at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22, to benefit disaster relief. The Bethany Praise Ensemble, Tony Windsor, McKenzie George, Gus & Laura Glaros and Theo Bolden will provide a variety of music. A love offering will be taken. Griefshare at St. John's Griefshare will be offered by St. John's United Methodist Church, 300 N. Pine St., Seaford, from 4-5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15, in the Wesley Lounge. The Lessons of Grief include the overlooked reason that grief is so painful. If you are living in grief we invite you to join us for the 13 week nondenominational journey, From Mourning to Joy. Interfaith Prayer Breakfast The Sussex County Democrats are sponsoring an Interfaith Prayer Breakfast on Saturday, Nov. 21 from 8-9:30 a.m. at Laurel's American Legion Post 19. "There are many conflicts worldwide, but here in Sussex County, this event is dedicated to celebrating all that we have in common," Mitch Crane, chair of the Sussex County Democratic Committee stated. "We are gathering to give thanks for all that is good in Sussex County." The breakfast will feature the following guests: Pastor Israel Figero from the Church of God Maranatha; the Rev. Gary Meekins from the Mount Calvary UMC; Rabbi Susan Warshaw from Congregation Bat Yam; Father Koko from St. Edmunds Catholic Church, and Charanjeet Singh Minhas from the Sikh Congregation of Delaware. Annual Gospel Fest On Sunday, Nov. 15 at 3:30 p.m., Ross Point Freedom Church, Seaford, will celebrate its second annual Gospel Fest. Everyone is welcome to join us for singing, praise dancing, and uplifting Jesus. The church is located at 10016 Concord Rd., Seaford, in the Church of God Saints in Christ building.

Servant's Heart Saturday Commemorating the opening of their doors in downtown Laurel, A Father's Heart Ministries (AFH) will beat the mad rush of Black Friday with a Servant's Heart Saturday. On Saturday, Nov. 21, from 9 a.m. to noon, come out to the new home of AFH at 129 N. Central Ave., Laurel, for the giveaway of gently used clothes and toys and meet some of the friends and staff. Knowing that life's hurts can take a person off course leaving them confused and directionless, AFH's vision is to see the hurting restored, walking in purpose. Educational programming to support the community will begin in January. Joy Night The Seaford Clarence Street Church of God will hold a Joy Night service at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13 and Saturday, Nov. 14. All are welcome. A free will offering will be taken. The church is located at 743 Clarence St., Seaford.

Chinese Auction at St. Philip's St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Laurel will holds its 10th Annual Chinese Auction on Saturday, Nov. 14. Doors to Memorial Hall will open at 5 p.m. Chili, hot dogs, desserts and beverages will be sold. The auction will begin at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join us for a fun filled evening. Free Thanksgiving Dinner Bethel United Methodist Church at Oak Grove invites everyone to the 8th annual free Thanksgiving dinner at noon on Thursday, Nov. 26. There is only one seating at noon. The church is located west of Seaford at 2381 Neals School Road.

Gospel Concert and Lasagna Dinner The Homeland Singers will sing in the new year with its Annual Gospel Concert and Lasagna Dinner on New Year's Eve, Thursday, Dec. 31, at St. Stephen's United Methodist Church in Delmar. Dinner starts at 5 p.m. and the concert starts at 7. Singers include Jack Andrews, Triple Praise and The Homeland Singers and guest. The menu includes dinner, salad, drinks, desserts and coffee

Father Daughter Dance Mount Olivet's annual Father Daughter Dance will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 from 7-9:30 p.m. at Seaford High School. Tickets will be available at Posey Palace and on The Bridge's website, www.887thebridge.com. Tickets are $10 prior to Dec. 25 and $15 after. Get your tickets early as the event has sold out in previous years.
