Special Native American service Friends and members of Centenary United Methodist Church, 200 W. Market St., Laurel, invite you to the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, Feb. 21, for a Celebration of Native American Ministries. Boe Harris and Ragghi Calentine will lead the worship service as it is celebrated in Native American traditions.They will share their stories and traditional Native American faith stories, music and dance in ways that will engage our minds, hearts and souls.This is a great opportunity to better understand our differences as well as what we can do to further strengthen the relationship we share as Gods children in the world today. Griefshare at St. Johns Griefshare will be offered at St. Johns United Methodist Church, 300 N. Pine St., Seaford, from 4-5:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, in the Wesley Lounge. The question, Is this normal? will be discussed. We will address the intensity and duration of emotions and how the experience is harder than we imagined. Hymn Sing at St. Pauls St. Pauls UMC Church in Laurel invites the community to its first Hymn Sing for the 2016 season at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28. The Hymn Sing will feature The Homeland Singers from Salisbury, Md. Their tight family harmony and deep Southern gospel sound are inspirational and uplifting. A love offering will be taken to benefit their ministry. Please note the following changes: a new time - 6 p.m. and refreshments will be desserts only. Lenten Fish Dinners Lenten Fish Dinners will be held every Friday from Feb. 12 through March 18, in the Our Lady of Lourdes parish hall on Stein Highway, Seaford, from 4:30-7 p.m. The dinners will feature your choice of baked breaded flounder or vegetable lasagna, fresh vegetables, scalloped potatoes or baked mac and cheese, coleslaw homemade soup, beverage and dessert. Dinners are $9 per person and $5 for children under 10. Eat in or carry out. Proceeds support the Josephine Gay Scholarship Fund to be awarded to a parish high school senior this spring.

Pork and Sauerkraut Dinner Bethel United Methodist Church at Oak Grove will hold a pork and sauerkraut dinner on Saturday, March 12 from 4-6 p.m. The menu includes pork, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, rolls, apple butter, apple crisp and beverage for $10. Chicken and Dumpling Dinner Weather permitting, the women of Woodland United Methodist Church, 5123 Woodland Church Rd., Seaford, will serve a Chicken and Dumpling Dinner at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Cost is $10; children 6-12, $5; ages 5 and under, free. Woodland Church is located 4.5 miles west of Seaford next to the Woodland Ferry house. No carry-outs. Dedication Service Compassionate Shepherd Ministries will conduct a dedication service at their new location in Laurel on Sunday, Feb. 28, during the 11 a.m. worship service. There will be special music and Pastor Dr. Robert E. Douglas Jr. will deliver the message.

A light luncheon will be served after the service. The church is now located at 10771 N. Plaza Rd., Laurel, across from the Food Lion Shopping Plaza on US 13.

Womens Day at Faith UMC Womens Day sponsored by the United Methodist Women will be held at Faith United Methodist Church located at 19940 Church St., Rehoboth, at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 13. Passover Meal and Service Union United Methodist Church, 2 N. Laws St., Bridgeville, will hold a traditional Passover Meal and Service at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge to attend, however, donations are welcomed to help cover the purchase of foods and items needed. Annual Fashion Show The Sussex Community Gospel Mass Choir Annual Fashion Show will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 13 at Church of God and Saints of Christ, 10016 Concord Rd., Seaford. Surviving the Holidays seminar St. Johns United Methodist Church in Seaford will host Surviving the Holidays from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, in the Wesley Lounge. Holidays can include any special day in our memory which produce a sadness when we have to face the day without that special someone. Randy Chang in concert Enjoy an inspiring piano performanceand testimonial by Randy Chang of Smyrna at Christ United Methodist Church, 510 S. Central Ave., Laurel, at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 21. Randy and his family are a bold tribute to the human spirit and the great things that can be accomplished by continued commitment and trust in Our Lord. The Changs family story tells of challenges, struggles, and great joys as Randy lives with Down Syndrome, as well as being legally blind. In spite of these challenges, Randy has completed his college education, and been officially commissioned to ministry, as he serves nursing home residents with his piano selections and his testimony.Bring your family and friends to this free concert. Guest night in Salisbury The Ocean Bay Chorus of Sweet Adelines International will hold a Guest Night on Tuesday, March 15 at 6:30 pm in the Wicomico Presbyterian Church, 127 Broad St., Salisbury. Ocean Bay Chorus is a part of Sweet Adelines International, which is a highly respected world-wide vocal organization of women of all ages who are committed to advancing the musical art form of four-part harmony barbershop style.
