Outdoor Gospel Concert

St. George's United Methodist Church, 34894 St. George Rd., Delmar, will host an outdoor gospel concert featuring Irv Brumbley and his group on Saturday, Sept. 9. Bring your own lawn chair.
The pre-concert begins at 4:30 p.m followed by the concert at 5. In the event of rain, the gospel concert will be held in the church.
Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, desserts, soda and bottled water, etc., will be available to purchase.
All are invited to attend.

Open Mic Christian Night

Compassionate Shepherd Ministries, 10771 N. Plaza Rd., Laurel, will hold Open Mic Christian Night - Sing Along Night - on Friday, Aug. 4 from 7 to 9 p.m.

'Dialogue for Peace'

Join us at Felton-Viola United Methodist Church, 101 E. Main St., Felton, on Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 6:30 p.m., in a Dialogue for Peace and Understanding about the Muslim faith.

Vacation Bible School

A Vacation Bible School with the theme: 'Jesus is my Super Hero' will take place at the Delmar Church of God of Prophecy at Route 13 and Dorothy Road in Laurel, three miles north of the Maryland/Delaware state line. Dinner Theater to benefit Macedonia AME Church

A dinner theater title 'Who Killed the Church' featuring the Refuge Temple Drama Club will take place on Saturday, Aug. 5 at 6 p.m. at St. Luke's Parish Hall in Seaford. The cost is a $20 donation, $12 for children 12 years and under. The event will benefit Men's Day at Macedonia AME Church. Sussex County School Supply

campaign in 17th year With poverty levels at 60 percent and up, there are many children in need of the basics for the start of the school year. St. John's United Methodist Church started the Sussex County School Supply Campaign in 2001 to address this need. This is the 17th year for this project, and donations have more than tripled since its inception. The hope is that the program will spread throughout Delaware and beyond!
The need is greater this year than ever before. The drive is taking place through Aug. 20. Donated supplies will be brought to St. John's to be divided and boxed for the schools to be served. School personnel then pick up the supplies, and they are distributed to qualified students by their own guidance counselors. All supplies collected in Seaford, stay in Seaford. Back to School Service

Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church, 34929 Columbia Rd., Delmar, will hold a Back to School Service on Sunday, Aug. 6 at 9:30 a.m. Free school supplies for all students and teachers in attendance.
A picnic will follow morning worship.

VBS at Laurel Wesleyan

Laurel Wesleyan Church, Alt. 13, Laurel, presents 'Emojified FAM JAM' Family Style VBS for all ages on Aug. 16-18 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Includes dinner, crafts, worship, games and the Word of God.

Wellness Rally on Aug. 5

Are you ready to make some healthy lifestyle changes but aren't sure where to begin? Are you working on your goals but need a fresh burst of motivation?
At First Place 4 Health Wellness Rally on Saturday, Aug. 5, at Crossroad Community Church in Georgetown, you'll find a morning of fun, fellowship, fitness and food. Healthy foodÉdemonstrated by speaker Lisa Lewis, author of 'Healthy Happy Cooking,' as she inspires us to 'bring the family back to the table.' We will also discuss living a balanced life and hear testimonies from ladies who have learned how to live it.
Lunch is included. Remember to wear comfy clothes and sneakers for the 'movement minutes.' Better yet, come at 7:30 a.m. for the early bird exercise class with Lisa Karnish, group fitness instructor.

VBS for Mentally Challenged

The BSSP program at Christ Lutheran Church, 315 N. Shipley St., Seaford, will host its summer Vacation Bible School program on Aug. 7-11 for mentally challenged youth and adults. The theme is 'Mighty Fortess- In Jesus the Victory is Won'. At Mighty Fortress, the church teaches that God is our refuge and strength.
Students will sing, pray, and learn through five Bible accounts that teach that God promises to be our rock and salvation- our fortress and sure defense! A light dinner will be served from 6-6:30 p.m. Class is from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Bible stories will be told by a storyteller, along with puppets, music, games, and crafts.
