Evening of Music On Friday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m., there will be an Evening of Music for the Bob and Cristina Carey family to help with Cristinas medical expenses. The event will be held at Crossroad Community Church, 20684 State Forest Rd., Georgetown. A love offering will be taken.

Car and Truck Show The First Baptist Church in Delmar will hold the 10th Annual Labor Day Car and Truck Show on Monday Sept. 4. Registration is from 9 a.m. to noon. Entry fee is $10. Top 30 trophies will be presented at 1 p.m. First 50 receive dash plaques. Food and fun for the whole family. Open Mic Christian Night Open Mic Christian Night will take place Friday, Sept. 1 from 7-9 p.m. at Compassionate Shepherd Ministries. Sandwich sale at Delmar Church of God of Prophecy is Sept. 9 There will be a sandwich sale on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Delmar Church of God of Prophecy, located at Route 13 North and Dorothy Road in Laurel (three miles north of the Maryland/Delaware state line).

Labor Day Gospel Concert A Labor Day Gospel Concert will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 4, at the Federalsburg Marina Park Pavilion in Federalsburg, Md.Featured artists include The Veasey Family, Keith Colona and Judy Laramore. Admission is free. Bring a chair and a friend. Concessions will be available and a love offering will be received.

Sunday School at Mt. Olivet Sunday school classes at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in downtown Seaford resume on Sept. 10.Several classes are offered for adults and youth and meet weekly 9:45-10:45 a.m. Everyone is welcome.

Outdoor Gospel Concert St. Georges United Methodist Church, 34894 St. George Rd., Delmar, will host an outdoor gospel concert featuring Irv Brumbley and his group on Saturday, Sept. 9. Bring your own lawn chair. The pre-concert begins at 4:30 p.m followed by the concert at 5. In the event of rain, the gospel concert will be held in the church. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, desserts, soda and bottled water, etc., will be available to purchase. All are invited to attend.

Dialogue for Peace Join us at Felton-Viola United Methodist Church, 101 E. Main St., Felton, on Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 6:30 p.m., in a Dialogue for Peace and Understanding about the Muslim faith. Members of the Islamic Center of Central Delaware will be in attendance. Come with questions and information you have heard to find out what is really true.

Summer services at Old Christ Church The board of directors and the membership of Old Christ Church League announce the resumption of regular summer services at Old Christ Church, Laurel. Services are held on the first Sunday of the month, through Sept. 3 at 10 a.m. The order of worship is taken from an 18th century prayer book in use around the time Old Christ Church was built in 1771-1772. Step back in time when you cross the threshold into the church; it is not electrified, and appears as it did in 1771. Through the open windows, you will see the trees, the church yard and Chipman Pond in a very tranquil setting. Ross Point Freedom Church holds Family and Friends Day Ross Point Freedom Church, located at 10016 Concord Road in Seaford at the Church of God and Saints of Christ building, is celebrating its Eighth Family and Friends Day on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 3:30 p.m. The guest preacher is Bishop Jesse Abbott of New Dimension Ministries in Salisbury. The host pastor is Rev. Shirley Caldwell.

Outdoor worship service Zoar United Methodist Church is having an outdoor worship service on Sunday, September 17 at 10:15 in the historic grove where camp meetings were held 100 years ago. This year the worship will be lead by the Evans Family from Pocomoke, Maryland. The service will be followed by a pot luck picnic. Bring a dish to share at the picnic, and a lawn chair for the worship time. Zoar is located at 24463 Gravel Hill Road, Millsboro, DE 19966, Pastor Martha Callaway is the minister.
