Community Prayer Breakfast Church of God and Saints of Christ Seaford Tabernacle, 10016 Concord Rd., Seaford, will hold a free Community Prayer Breakfast, on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 9 a.m. Speaker will be Elder Erika Carr, first lady of COGSOC. Ordination Service Compassionate Shepherd Ministries, 10771 N. Laurel Plaza Rd., Laurel, will have an ordination service on Sunday, Sept. 24 at their 11 a.m. service. Dr. Galen S. Queen of Laurel, will be ordained as associate pastor of Compassionate Shepherd Ministries. Dr. Robert E. Douglas Jr., founder and senior pastor, will officiate. Friends and family are welcome to attend. There will be light refreshments and a reception after the service.

Community Health and Fun Day Lifeway Church of God, 7046 Seashore Hwy., Bridgeville, is sponsoring a free community outreach day on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The day will include resource groups, health screenings by Nanticoke Hospital, and other ministries. Oyster Fritter and Chicken Dinner Centenary United Methodist Church in Laurel will be holding its annualOyster Fritter & Chicken Salad Dinneron Saturday, Sept. 23from 4-6:30 pm. Come and enjoy a delicious dinner including potato salad, greens, string beans, applesauce and dessert. The cost of the dinner is $13 for adults, $6 for children 6 - 12 and under 5 free. St. Marys Episcopal Church reaches out to community St. Marys Episcopal Church in Bridgeville continues to reach out to the community by offering a free carryout brown bag lunch the 3rd Saturday of the month (Sept. 16). This program is being offered free to any who wish to stop by the Parish Hall between the hours of noon and 2 p.m. Lunch will be sandwich, fruit, chips, drink and applesauce. All are welcome. The church is located at 2 N. Williams Street.

Open Mic Christian Night is Friday Open Mic Christian Night will take place on Friday, Sept. 15 from 7-9 p.m. at Compassionate Shepherd Ministries. Super Praise Night will take place with The Nichols Sisters and Family. At any given time there will be 7-10 singers and musicians on stage. The Nichols Sisters and Family base church home is the Wesley United Methodist of Mardela Springs. This will be a uplifting night for all audience members and followers. Christ Lutheran Church to celebrate 500th anniversary of reformation Christ Lutheran Church of Seaford will be celebrating the 500th anniversary of the reformation. Martin Luther challenged some of the techniques and principles of the Christian church during the time. Luther stressed the good news that God is seeking a loving relationship with each one of us. Come and join us as we celebrate the strong acts of this brave Christian. Everyone is invited to attend these special events. On Saturday, Sept. 30 at 12:30 p.m., the church is having a reformation festival. guided tours through various stations depicting life during the reformation and events in the life of Martin Luther. there will be fun, good and music. On Saturday, Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. there will be a musical. Enjoy choral groups, bell choirs, vocalists and instrumentals from various Lutheran churches around Delmarva. There will be light refreshments.

10th Annual Outdoor Gospel Music Festival The Laurel St. Pauls UMC, located at 32827 Old Stage Road in Laurel, will hold its 10th Annual Outdoor Gospel Music Festival on Saturday, Sept. 30 starting at noon. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy featured groups Sons of Thunder, Phil Davis, the Evans Family (Ernie and son Graceson), and the Baptist Boys. Outdoor worship service Zoar United Methodist Church is having an outdoor worship service on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 10:15 a.m. in the historic grove where camp meetings were held 100 years ago. This year the worship will be lead by the Evans Family from Pocomoke, Maryland. The service will be followed by a pot luck picnic.
