Community Easter Sunrise Service

The Kiwanis Club of Delmar will host its annual Easter Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. on Sunday, April 1, at the Delmar High School football field. All are welcome.

GriefShare starts April 4

The Seaford Church of the Nazarene, 25567 Faith Lane, Seaford, will sponsor GriefShare, a support ministry for people grieving the death of a loved one. In GriefShare, you will find that you are not alone; there are others who understand the pain and loss you have experienced.
GriefShare meets weekly for 13 weeks and each session includes a video seminar with well-known counselors, a support group with a group leader, and a personal workbook with resources.

Yard Sale Event

Gethsemane United Methodist Church will hold a huge Yard Sale Event featuring a massive indoor yard sale, a bake sale, snacks and drinks at the church's fellowship hall on Saturday, April 7 from 7 a.m. to noon, rain or shine. The fellowship hall is located at 2701 Woodland Ferry Rd., Seaford.

Mother-Daughter/Sister-Sister Lunch

The Bridgeville Charge will host their annual Mother-Daughter/Sister-Sister Luncheon at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, at the Fellowship Hall at Union United Methodist Church, 2 N. Laws St., Bridgeville.
Special guests will be the Second Generation Community Chorus of Federalsburg, Md.
This event is sponsored by the Bridgeville Charge Finance Committee as a fundraiser for the Bridgeville Charge Community Outreach Program.
Cost for adults is $25; children ages 5-12, $12; and children ages 4 and under are free, however, they must have a ticket. No tickets will be sold at the door. The deadline to purchase tickets is'April 15.

Father-Son/Brother-Brother Banquet

The United Methodist Women of Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church, Bridgeville, will be sponsoring a Father-Son/Brother-Brother Banquet to celebrate men and the important role they play in our lives.
The event will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, in the Fellowship Hall at Union Church, 2 N. Laws St., Bridgeville. Special guest and emcee will be gospel comedian JReam.ÊCost is $25 for adults, $12.50 for ages 5-12; ages 4 and under are free but they must have a ticket.

Beef and Dumplings Dinner

Concord United Methodist Church will hold a Beef and Dumpling Dinner on Saturday, March 24, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., at the Community House.
Menu includes beef and dumplings, hand-mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, homemade cole slaw, applesauce, rolls and butter, beverages, and assorted cakes for dessert. Cost is $12 per person or $6 for children under 12 (pay at the door).

Sister to Sister III Gathering

Come and be a part of this year's Sister to Sister III Gathering at St. John's UMC in Seaford on Saturday, April 14. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. followed by praise and worship at 10 and the catered luncheon at 11:30.
Enjoy musical arrangements by St. John's assistant music director, Joy Slavens, who has published two books of Christmas music, two solos and teaches piano and harp to over 40 students.

Celebrate spring event

Enjoy spring's arrival with a celebration at the Wheatley Community House, at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 24.
The celebration will include a baked goods table featuring Easter goodies, a cake auction, and a 'country' covered dish supper, provided by the Wheatley church congregation.
The evening's entertainment will feature a parade of those choosing to 'model' their Easter bonnets with judging for: prettiest, funniest, and most original bonnets.
Don your favorite Easter bonnet and come out for an evening of fellowship and old-fashioned family fun.
The Wheatley Community House is located on Rt. 313 halfway between Sharptown and Eldorado, and a mile outside Galestown.

Dr. Janelle Beiler is the speaker for Sister-to-Sister III

The speaker for Sister-to-Sister III on Saturday, April 14 at St. John's UMC in Seaford is the Rev. Dr. Janelle Beiler.
Janelle has blessed St. John's women in 2016 and again in 2017 with two in-house retreats. Both times she spoke to welcoming audiences who responded enthusiastically to her presentation.

Day of Prayer Service

The Greenwood Memorial VFW Auxiliary of Post 7478 will sponsor the National Day of Prayer Service under the leadership of Dept. of DE VFW Auxiliary Chaplain Rev. Michaele S. Russell.
The special service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, at Living Life Fellowship on Market Street in Greenwood. This year's theme is Pray for Unity, Ephesians 4:13.

Revival to be held March 31

There will be a Revival on March 31 at 1 p.m. at the Salvation Army, located on Route 13 North in Seaford. Bring a hungry, thirsty, and expectant heart. Refreshments will be served. Call 629-6562 with questions.

Gospelfest musical celebration

Gospelfest with the Christian Travellers, a musical celebration which includes dinner and a concert, will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, at Grace United Methodist Church Hall, 11 King St., Georgetown. This event benefits the Richard Allen Coalition.

Christ Lutheran Church Christ Lutheran Church will be holding Lenten services at 6:30 p.m. with pot luck dinner prior to the service on March 21. March 29 is Maundy Thursday service with communion both at noon and in the evening, as well as Good Friday Service on March 30 both at noon and in the evening. All are welcome. All Saints Episcopal Church Lenten, Easter Schedule

You are invited to join All SaintsÕ Episcopal Center, located at 100 N. 10th Street in Delmar, during the Lenten Season and Holy Week. The Sunday Worship Service begins at 10 a.m. and, during Lent, consists of Penitential Order II and Holy Eucharist, Rite B.

Basket auction

St. Bernadette Church, located at 109 Dixon Street in Harrington, will be hosting a Tricky Tray basket auction on Saturday, March 23. Doors open at 4 p.m. Tickets are available at the door for a $5 donation or five canned goods. There will be door prizes, raffles, and plenty of good food to purchase. Gospel singers, musicians needed

Gospel/Christian singers, Christian comedians, and musicians who enjoy playing gospel music - lead, fiddler, steel guitar and drummer - are needed to perform on a regular basis at Open Mic Christian Night held the first and third Friday of each month in April through December at Compassionate Shepherd Ministries in Laurel.
