Re-Creation concert at Conley's UMC On Sunday, Aug. 12 at 6:30 p.m., Conley's United Methodist Church will present Re-Creation performing a program of religious and family oriented music entitled "Classic: The Worship Suite." Re-Creation is an all volunteer group that entertains at veteran's homes and hospitals. There is no admission charge but a free will offering will be taken. Williams in concert Amy Williams of Chesapeake, Va., will be in concert at Faith Fellowship Church, 23466 Brunkhorst Rd., Preston, Md., on Sunday, Aug. 26 at 11 a.m. Amy is a former gospel music TV and radio host who has traveled extensively in the U.S. and Romania, sharing her gift of song.

Open Mic Christian Night Compassionate Shepherd Ministries, 10771 N. Plaza Rd., Laurel, will hold Open Mic Christian Night on Friday, Aug. 3 from 7-9 p.m. There will be a special guest that we haven't seen in a very long time. Other great singers who will be joining us include The 3 Tenors, Jim Dryden, Gloria Holland, Dean Adkins, Galen Queen, Connie & Allen, Virginia Tyler, Everett Hart, Mel Adkins, Virginia Mitchell and more. Everyone is welcome to sing. Admission and snacks are always free. A love offering will be taken. Come enjoy a night of uplifting praise music and friendship. Vacation Bible School The Delmar Church of God of Prophecy will host a Vacation Bible School called "Polar Blast" Aug. 13-15 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for ages toddler to 12 years old. The school will take place at the church, located at Route 13 and Dorothy Rd. For more information call 443-235-5494.

Back to School Fun Night The Youth Department of Mt. Calvary invites you to join them for their Back to School Fun Night on Friday, Aug. 10, 2018 at Mt. VBS at Church of the Nazarene Vacation Bible School: The Seaford Church of the Nazarene, 25667 Faith Lane, Seaford will hold their annual Vacation Bible School Aug. 6-10 from 6 to 8 p.m. This year's theme is Deep Sea Adventure. Children will explore the depth of Jesus' love through biblical lessons, songs, crafts, games, and more.

Dr. Mishoe to speak Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church, 28 Church St., Bridgeville, will celebrate the appointment of Dr. Wilma Mishoe as the eleventh and first female president of Delaware State University (DSU) at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 26. She follows the legacy of her father, Dr. Luna I. Mishoe, who served as president of DSU from 1960 to 1987. Dr. Mishoe will be the keynote speaker. There will also be representatives from the DSU admissions office to answer questions about applying to DSU. Men/Women Day The Annual Men/Women Day will take place on Sunday, Aug. 19. The messenger at 11 a.m. is Elder Arthur Doakes from Rehoboth Temple in Laurel. The messenger at 3:30 p.m. is Rev. Jean Briggs from Mt. Calvary AME in Seaford.

Pastor Anniversary St. Matthews First Baptist Church in Laurel will celebrate Pastor Anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 9. The messenger at 11 a.m. is Min. Chris Armwood from Greater Faith in Bridgeville and the messenger at 3:30 p.m. is Rev. Dr. Raymond Fisher, pastor, Union Baptist Church in Lincoln.

VBS for Mentally Challenged The BSSP Program at Christ Lutheran Church, located at 315 N. Shipley St. in Seaford, will host its summer Vacation Bible School program on Aug. 6-10 for mentally challenged youth and adults. The theme is "Splash Cannon". Students will sing, pray, and learn through five Bible stories about how God keeps his promise through life's wild ride. A light dinner will be served from 6-6:30 p.m. Class is from 6:30-8 p.m. Bible stories will be told by a storyteller, along with puppets, music, games, and crafts. VBS at Gethsemane U.M. Church Gethsemane United Methodist Church will be offering Shipwrecked Vacation Bible School on Aug. 6-9, 6-8 p.m. for kids who will by 4 by Aug. 31, and not in diapers, through kids who will be entering 5th grade in the fall. Kids will have fun as they explore the Bible, sing songs, play games, and do crafts while learning that Jesus will carry them through the storms of life. Gethsemane is located at 2701 Woodland Ferry Rd., on Rt. 20, four miles west of Seaford. While not mandatory, early registration is encouraged. VBS at Laurel Wesleyan Laurel Wesleyan Church "Incredible Faith FAM JAM" Family Style VBS for all ages will be held Aug. 8-10, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Includes dinner, crafts, worship, games and the Word of God.
