Grief Recovery Seminar Laurel Church of Christ will hold a Grief Recovery Seminar for those who have lost, those who want to prepare themselves for loss, or those helping others who have lost loved ones on Friday, Sept. 21 from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22 from 8 a.m. to noon and Sunday, Sept. 23 from 9 to 11 a.m. Please RSVP to Philip at laurelcoc2017@gmail.com or 609-231-1531.

Delaware Wellness Rally is Sept. 22 Crossroad Community Church, Georgetown, will host a day of faith, fun, food and fitness as the church's First Place 4 Health (FP4H) group holds its third annual Delaware Wellness Rally on Sept. 22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Keynote speaker will be Charlotte Davis, a registered, licensed dietitian who works as the child nutrition director for an Arkansas public school district. She is the author of the soon-to-be-released 'My Place for Nutrition.' Davis has led FP4H groups in Arkansas churches for more than 20 years. Lisa Karnish, who started the FP4H group at Crossroad in 2014 and is now the local networking leader, will also speak. A retired ICU registered nurse, Karnish is certified as a group fitness instructor and health coach. Participants also will hear inspiring success stories and learn solutions to common struggles. Dinner/Concert on Sept. 6 Delmarva Gospel Music Association and Crossroads Community Church will host a dinner/concert presenting The Collingsworth Family on Thursday, Sept. 6, at 6 p.m. Doors will open at 5. Tickets are $45 a person and can be purchased by calling 302-531-7997, at the church or by going online to delmarvagospel.com.

Barbecue rib dinner Christ Lutheran Church, located at 315 N. Shipley St. in Seaford, will hold an all-you-can-eat barbaqued rib dinner on Saturday, Aug. 25 from 5-6:30 p.m. The menu will include fibs, potato salad, green beans with almonds, tossed salad, bread, coffee, lemonade, iced tea, and assorted desserts. The cost is $15 for adults, $7 for children, and free for ages five and under. Takeouts are available. There will also be a silent auction and music. All are welcome.

Williams in concert Amy Williams of Chesapeake, Va., will be in concert at Faith Fellowship Church, 23466 Brunkhorst Rd., Preston, Md., on Sunday, Aug. 26 at 11 a.m. Amy is a former gospel music TV and radio host who has traveled extensively in the U.S. and Romania, sharing her gift of song.

Dr. Mishoe to speak Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church, 28 Church St., Bridgeville, will celebrate the appointment of Dr. Wilma Mishoe as the eleventh and first female president of Delaware State University (DSU) at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 26. She follows the legacy of her father, Dr. Luna I. Mishoe, who served as president of DSU from 1960 to 1987. Dr. Mishoe will be the keynote speaker. There will also be representatives from the DSU admissions office to answer questions about applying to DSU.
