Clarence Church Women's Day
The Clarence Street Church of God will host its annual Women's Day on Sunday, Oct. 2. The theme for the day is "Moving From Promise to Possession." The morning service will begin at 11. Beth Morris of Dagsboro will be the speaker. The afternoon service will begin at 5 and Evangelist Robin Matthew-Wright of Full Gospel Tabernacle Center of Wilmington will be the speaker. Asbury revival, homecoming
Asbury United Methodist Church, Rt. 9 near Hardscrabble, is hosting a special revival service. Pastor Don Murray will be speaking on Thursday, Sept. 29, at 7 p.m. Pastor Everett C. Isaacs will speak on Friday, Sept. 30, at 7 p.m.. Isaacs is the pastor of Melson Charge, Delmar, and father of Asbury's Pastor Paul Isaacs. Evangelist Paula Mounce-Hobia will minister in music on Friday evening. Services will continue on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 9:15 a.m. with Isaacs bringing the message and Paula Mounce-Hobia the special music. The homecoming service will commence at 2 p.m. on Sunday again with Isaacs and Mounce-Hobia sharing the service. A meal will follow the homecoming service in the community hall. All are welcome. The United Methodist women will be selling afghans and other memorabilia. Call 349-9175.

St. Paul's 'Quiet Reflection'
A Day of Quiet Reflection will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Pine and Academy streets, in Georgetown on Saturday, Oct. 1. Barbara Tucker will be the presenter and her topic is, "The Spirit of God Moved in the Hebrew Scriptures." This is the first in a series of Days of Quiet Reflection on the theme "Hearts on Fire: The Holy Spirit Through the Ages." All are welcome; bring a brown bag lunch. Beverages are provided. The day begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. Call 856-2894.

Thrift Shop Clothes Giveaway
St. John's Thrift Shop is having a clothes giveaway of winter clothing on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the church located on Pine and Poplar Streets, Seaford. Persons are asked to bring their own bags.

Dessert Theater at St. John's
A dessert theater will be held at St. John's Church, Pine and Poplar Streets, Seaford, on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. Come view the film, "Norman," produced by Focus on the Family, a heart warming story of learning to love one's neighbor. A time of fellowship and dessert will follow.

Youth Service at Zion Church
The youth department of St. John AME Zion Church (Ross Point) will sponsor a service on Friday, Sept. 30, at 7 p.m. Elder Tynesha Harris from Salisbury will be the guest speaker for the evening. The Rev. Oris Percy Fields, Sr. is the pastor.

The Rev. Jeanne Kirby
The Rev. Jeanne Kirby, rector of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Seaford, was elected president of the standing committee for the diocese of Delaware. This committee functions as the council of advice for the bishop, hearing the bishop's concerns and offering thoughtful and prayerful responses. There are many functions performed by this committee which consists of four lay members and four clerical members to a four-year term. The Rev. Kirby previously served as secretary of the standing committee.

A Ten Commandment supper
There will be a Ten Commandment supper at John Wesley United Methodist Church on Saturday, Oct. 22, at St. Luke's Parish Hall, North and King streets, Seaford, at 5 p.m. The donation is $10 per adult and $5 per child. Women's Day Conference
The United Deliverance Bible Center in Laurel will have its 2005 Women's Day Conference, "Becoming Women of Excellence," Oct. 6-9. Special events are planned. The King's Daughter's Ball will take place on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 5 p.m. in the Catherine Camper multi-purpose building, 12108 County Seat Highway, Laurel. Evening services will take place at 7:30 on Oct. 6 and 7 at the center, 532 W. Seventh St., Laurel. The guest speaker will be Dr. Jackie London of Newburn, N.C. The final event will Women's Day Services on Sunday, Oct. 8, at 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the center with guest speaker Ruth Adams, a pastor from Pennsauken, N.J. Chaplain's Chapel homecoming
There will be a homecoming service at Chaplain's Chapel, near Bridgeville, on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Bob Hudson of Millsboro will be the speaker. Special music will be provided and dinner will follow. For more information call Rosalie Hastings at 337-7446.

Annual Fall Bazaar
Christ United Methodist Church, 510 South Central Avenue in Laurel, will hold its Annual Fall Bazaar on Friday, Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., carry-outs are available. There will be crafts, baked goods, a country store, and trash & treasure table. For additional information call 875-4233.
